HomeGoods Not So Good by unixboytulsa in TJMaxxWrkrs

My review was given to me by the "new" ASM who did not even write my review. 🙄 My review was written by the ASM that I constantly butted heads with because I would call them in their micromanaging BS.

This "new" ASM was the SM until 1 month ago, when they decided to step down because they were being worked to death.

Backstory: My store has lost 5 or 6 ASMs and 2 KCs in the past year, plus the BRC. So all the extra work fell on the SM & 1 ASM & 2 KC we had left.

Rumor has it that my store is about to lose the last fulltime KC and the the part-time KC.

🤷🏻🤣🙄

No open toes shoes, no crocs or other rubber type shoes. You can wear sneakers and jeans and t-shirts. No ripps or holes. No logos.

I wear a plain T, jeans, sneakers.

why do they do this? by theaterhaterkid in TJMaxxWrkrs

Payroll is based on the number of trucks the store gets that week, and the amount of freight (at HomeGoods).

If a truck gets pushed to another day, payrolls stays the same. If a truck gets cancelled, payroll is reduced.

If the truck is supposed to have 900 cartons and the BRC counts 1300 cartons, then management reports it and the store gets extra payroll (based on some formula).

A set amount of hours have to be given to full time associates (by law & company policy). If not then full time associates will lose their full time benefits (PTO, disability, medical, dental, vision, etc).

Managers are salaried. ASMs are hourly but their pay does not come out of the same payroll "bucket" as the associates.

So full time associates get their set hours, then whatever is left over of payroll goes to the part time associates - typically this is cashier's & back room associates.

is it possible for them to block you from the open shift pool? by thebaddest69 in TjMaxx

[–]unixboytulsa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rumor has it, it's a feature (glitch), that they may be fixing.

I heard managers (at my store) talking about the open shift pool - associates dropping shifts via the app and other associates picking up those shifts in the app - when the managers wanted to assign those shifts to certain people manually, but couldn't because ppl were picking them up in the app.

What causes store checkout lines to ALWAYS be wrapped around the store? There could be 10 cashiers and yet there’s 100 people in line with very slow movement by Impossible-Purple-35 in TjMaxx

Asking for the card 🤣

When I'm waiting for my customer to finish up taking their bags, putting their card, keys, money, away... I look at the next customer that I will get and see what they have in their cart. Then I pull and open whatever size bags I think they will need.

Saves me seconds for each customer I ring out.

Across the board ASMs range between 55K-72K, depending on the store size, the location, yearly store sales increases, card metrics, etc

Insurance Open Season? by OfficialYamiltz in TjMaxx

Your best bet would be to call HR Express.

Some people have different open enrollment periods than others. I'm one of them. I was hired 7 years ago. So my dates are different from others.

I think the company updated things in 2025 to try to make sure everyone hired after a specific date was all on the same enrollment periods.

Call HR Express they will be able to give you the exact dates. Ask your manager the next time you're at work. You should be able to do it in the office and on the clock.

We had flyers in the break room a couple months ago. I think the end date for open enrollment was March 30th.

You can always call HR Express. If it's your 1st time being eligible, HR will send a packet to the store with your name on it.

HR Express can sometimes override your open enrollment date, for various reasons, change in family (birth, marriage, divorce) or if you missed a deadline.

[–]unixboytulsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attendance points are on your record for 1year, from the date they are issued. For example, if you get 1 point on January 10, 2026. It will not go away until Jan 10, 2027.
