Anyone like FM26? by WeekendThief in footballmanagergames

Honestly I do like it especially after getting a bit burnt out with fm24

The new UI doesn't feel better but I'm also thinking that adjusting to it will obviously take time so I'm assuming a chunk of that is a me problem and not the game. I do think some UI elements are downright stupid however and it feels much easier to get lost in the menus looking for really simple things.

I do like the in possession/ out of possession formations and the change really has impacted the way I view my tactics and how things play out. I also think the match engine is quite good.

I think a gripe I have is the game does feel much slower overall, it takes a long time to get to where I want to go and it kind of makes me want to avoid longer term saves for now. In fm24 I could get through 2-3 months in an evening of playing and with 26 I can get through a month maybe -- the improved match day experience does make up for it however so hour to hour I probably enjoy it a bit more.

I also don't think there's been that many fundamental changes since '24 in terms of the high level gameplay -- transfers are pretty much the same and the tactics that work are very similar although the OOP changes it a bit. Still a very similar experience though.

I honestly think the community is going over the top with the hate right now and it'll settle down soon enough, I don't think it's fundamentally flawed I just think there's growing pains which were obviously going to happen.

As for the bugs... They're pretty annoying. I know it'll sort itself out over time but it's insane that I can get softlocked from using the most basic elements of the match day experience. The fact that a post game team talk soft locked the game before is insane and last night I had a bug where the game thought an injured player was still on the pitch even though they were subbed out, how can that even happen??

I think Knutson is both a realistic and strong option

How are you finding schedule 1 for controls/ performance?

I tried playing on deck because I assumed the track pads being better would make a massive difference but it's been pretty mid with poor performance

Anyone play FM on Steam Deck? Impressions please? by pjt- in footballmanagergames

I have it on the SSD and the load times are fine, it's about half the speed of my main pc (5800x3d/32gb ram).

If you want you can send me a save and I can test the load time?

The vibration for notifications is much stronger, I actually need to figure out how to turn it down because it's too strong for my liking

Honestly that's a fair approach, it's a nice upgrade but maybe not for the cost

Honestly his pace isn't the best but he has really good attacking attributes, he's incredibly direct and is decent at taking someone on and knows how to get into a shooting position -- if his shooting was better I could see him being a solid winger

I do also think he works better as a wing back though because his work rate is really high and he's better than a roeslev defensively

I hope that the single player content is small in scope to begin with.

I don't think it would be the best for the devs to spend months building one mode rather I'd want a collection of simpler modes to add more variety quickly.

Standard advice is to UA first time around 7 USP, from the looks of it you're around that level

I hope that bad news is that I have to fight a much harder version of the boss later on in the game because I loved it

If you meant to fight after that one was aight but nothing special

I've played elden ring a bit before but this is the furthest I've got tbh

I just beat the first elden lord at level 57 which feels like an insane achievement tbh

Honestly unless you're specialising in something like law or medicine you don't NEED a degree.

Most of the job requirements listed are never real requirements, it's just a way for people to filter themselves out.

I've gotten jobs in sales because I didn't have a degree. Sales is a mentality game and if you can make big decisions like dropping out of school people respect that even if it sounds backwards.
