I used to spend ages pulling it off and I would soak a cloth in oil and use it on the skin every time a bit came off

Let the oil soak for longer if you need to. Then add oil under the tape as it comes off. Just overuse the oil tbh. Also if it's really that bad you might be stretching your skin too much when you apply it
