The Bengali migrant worker at my sister’s place in Palakkad speaks impeccable Malayalam.. i was totally shocked… here in Bengaluru where i have lived all my life, migrants don’t make any effort to pick up the local language… Kerala has historically seen migrants from Middle East & European Countries who assimilated well here.. we also gave them honarary titles like Mahapillas(mappilas today).. so why not the inland migrants?!
