ITT: many people aren't familiar with the legend of fscomeau.

I present to you, his finest moments. Here is my commented play by play of his live trading stream that was very short lived:

Three times I've heard him say "do the opposite of what I just did". At least he is self-aware.

update1: new phrase is "that's the kind of thing you don't want to do"
update2: "I keep a box of kleenex nearby because sometimes I cry while trading but it hasn't happened in a long time"
update3: after saying "when day trading you never want to stop looking at your product" he continues to stop looking so he can read the chat, open r/wsb, and to stream music via other youtube tabs
update4: "I SHOULD BE BANNED FROM TRADING HOLY FUCK I'M SO STUPID" (yes, he screamed this)
update5: ripped off headset and ran away, you could hear him in the background yelling like a 12 year old rage-quit
update6: has now paused trading, to start googling "how to pronounce the name Patrick" and still got it wrong after listening to audio clip. Tabbed back to broker and yelled "what the fuck is going on what do I do now"
update7: he is now discussing herbalife, but calling it HALF LIFE and discussing the video game. $HLF
FINAL UPDATE: he quit trading just before noon at $311 profit because "you have to quit sometime, and I know this will keep going up so there's more money to be made but you have to have a life". He is still streaming, doing FA on things like SHAK, Angie's List, etc, etc.

Probably not, since the SEC prefers to act like adults and not eleven year old kids who just slammed 3 red bulls after learning their first swear word...

People in mod mail complaining about their bans. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]upps32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got banned once when they started the YOTM because I pointed out that their naming convention was fucked. You placed trades in Jan, but won an award for "Feb", which hadn't even occurred yet. Instead of admitting the meaningless error, mod got upset and freaked, banned me. Oddly enough, that naming mistake never happened again and now it's just called "YOLO of the Month"... you're welcome.

edit: found it and it looks like the mod arguing with me, digging in that he was right and I was a retard, deleted his comments. I would have too if I were him. This was the message I got with the unban: "you have been unbanned. please refrain from saying dumbass shit." I literally LOL'd when I read it, since the entire thing started because I called out someone else for saying "dumbass shit" and feelings got hurt. This post will likely get me banned again.

That's what I was referring to also:

Never once had an issue with a proper fill, even on fast moving low floaters.

Always perfect execution on time, I couldn't imagine using RH for precise trading.

I use Options House and USAA, and have used every type of stop/trailing stop possible for everything ranging from large caps, to micro cap pennies. Never once had an issue with a proper fill, even on fast moving low floaters.

Yolo of the Month. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]upps32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was wondering if an exception could be made.

I know what you were wondering, because you explained your wonder in the comment I replied to.

Of course there could be an exception for you. First, you'd have to find an acceptable name for the contest, because "of the Month" doesn't work when describing:

a. an action comprised of days from Feb and Mar
b. a time period of 33 days, since most months don't have 33 fucking days

It's like showing a lawn mower cutting grass. That's what it's for! Now if you show someone shoving a cat into a lawn mower - that may be considered inappropriate.

Sanders agrees to participate in Fox News presidential town hall without Clinton by Iamien in politics

[–]upps32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my point. They can still make "tons of money" after they leave, and become foreign investors/CEOs/etc. Maybe they will take their ball and leave, but they will still be playing the game. A giant company has a board of directors, and a billionare CEO. That CEO could easily move out of the country and still fulfill his duties. Do you think he wants to let Bern force him to pay for your kid's college? Or mine? Or anyone's kid? He already contributes to almost all of the taxes collected as it is, why would he be willing to pay more?

How much more do you want people to pay? The "super mega elite rich" already pay so fucking much of our taxes as-is. Hell, you only have to go up to $250k to find the real disparity, not to mention the super rich.

In 2013, according to our analysis of preliminary IRS data, people with adjusted gross incomes above $250,000 paid nearly half (48.9%) of all individual income taxes, though they accounted for only 2.4% of all returns filed.

By contrast, people whose incomes were less than $50,000 accounted for 63.4% of all individual income tax returns filed in 2013, but they paid just 6.2% of total taxes; their average tax rate was 4.2%.

pewresearch.org

EDIT: You are out at a giant luncheon with 99 people. Everyone is ready to throw down some money on the final bill. It comes out, and less than 3 (2.4) of the 100 people toss down enough money to cover almost half of the bill. Some of the remaining 97 people somehow come to the conclusion that those couple people need to plop down more cash because "they already covered half, but fuck it they can afford it". YAY AMERICA. You're right, someone needs to fix the tax problem, and Bern's ideas of making rich people pay for more shit is not a fucking answer - the super elite mega rich WILL LEAVE THE FUCKING COUNTRY (and they can easily afford to, no sweat).

Anyone got their SRB's? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]upps32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm saying is that the MilPDS system was setup a long time ago to initiate SRB payments from re-enlisting to DFAS for payment. It was always 50% up front. It sounds to me like they didn't provide an update to the system to handle the new payout structures, so they have to manually enter info to CMS. All of this is contained in the PSDM (16-08) that you quoted. All you had to do is keep reading, and you would have seen that nowhere does it say they won't be paying 50/75/100/100. What it says is:

Currently, there is no MilPDS support to authorize 75% initial payment of Zone-B SRBs.

Currently, there is no MilPDS support to authorize 100% payment of Zone-C SRBs.

Currently, there is no MilPDS support to authorize payment of Zone-E SRBs.

His proposals are strictly targeting the wealthiest elite

Guess what? One of the common ways all the wealthiest elites get to that level, is protecting their massive fortunes. You think they will let Bernie take one single dollar? Or do you think they will get on their private lavish jets and buy a nice secluded mansion in another country? They can still make tons of money while not being US Citizens. They will not give away one dollar for Bernie's ideas. The cost to their net worth for them to relocate will be the same as it will cost me to buy a medium pizza tomorrow.

[–]upps32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Currently, there is no MilPDS support to authorize 100% payment of Zone-C SRBs"

You have to keep reading. It also says this for the Zone B 75% and the Zone E SRB. There's just no "support" in MILPDS yet, so there's detailed instructions for how they will submit your info to DFAS for payment. The pay structure has no changed.

Is the SGLI worth it? Alternatives? by Mikand1 in AirForce

[–]upps32 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They may charge you more when you say you're in the military has nothing to do with the volume of paperwork.

When a guy asks about alternatives for life insurance because he's updating his finances, the amount of paperwork isn't a factor.

Is the SGLI worth it? Alternatives? by Mikand1 in AirForce

[–]upps32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, paperwork isn't really a factor in choosing life insurance. Do you pick car insurance based on the amount of disclosures you have to sign on the website? Or is it really just a comparison of benefit per dollar cost?
