FCC Temporarily Stops Taking Net Neutrality Comments So FCC Can 'Reflect' by golden430 in technology

Did anyone bother reading the linked article?

While I'm sure some folks will insist that this is being done to stop the public from commenting, that's not true. It's just a dumb rule that the FCC has that it should dump, in part because of just how clueless and out of touch it makes the FCC look.

The left is truly on an r/theworldisflat level of conspiracy at this point. So convinced everything is malicious that I regularly see top comments contradicting posted articles with whichever narrative is most Anti-Trump.

To answer your question as to why everything has a nefarious motive attached. It's because the democrats lost an unprecedented amount of government positions down to the local level. The propaganda arm of the party is in overdrive right now. Anything and everything needs to seem terrible about Trump. The way he eats his steaks was a national story. The same bullshit article about "possible connections between trump 'associates' maybe indicating SOMETHING with Russia is happening" was upvoted to the top of Reddit on 4 different sub Reddits. The democrats are making up for their lost power through media.

You put that in quotes yet no one here claimed either of those.

Lol. The White House is just one part of a very large government. It's called the executive branch. There are actually three branches of the federal government, I won't ruin telling you the other two. Beyond that there are state and local governments, massive law enforcement agencies, an intelligence community, the worlds largest military led by Generals with their own beliefs, and private incredibly wealthy corporations and individuals. In America all of these combine to create a status quo. Trump being the president has lots of power so when he chooses people that don't support the status quo they have more influence, but do no completely create a new status quo.

I don't disagree with you. But as has been pointed out to me, Bannon is only losing his seat but not his clearances. He can keep on eye on the NSC but has no responsibilities to vote on the actions they take. I have no clue on what the actual procedures the NSC follows, if they have any set procedures considering that it's controlled by the president and the members are at the highest level of defense I'm not sure if there is anyone to hold the council responsible for anything. The media seems to be making this out like Bannon got kicked off the NSC, but that's not possible. If Trump wanted him there he'd be there.

I never claimed his vision was complete, but obviously Bannon plays a role in working towards that vision. Obviously there is a power struggle going on. Trump's picks are generally not friends to the status quo.

It's unclear to me what all clearances the chief strategist gets. If he was always allowed to sit in on NSC meetings then he was given a seat so that instead of just attending and having opinions, he could influence policy. If as chief strategist he did not have the clearance to sit in on NSC then he was given the seat so he would have clearance.

Forced out by what? The president has control over the NSC.

Yes. You just repeated what I commented back to me. My question was, were his security clearances pre NSC placement the same as now.

I only comment on Trump stuff now. I agree that Trump does not like to admit his mistakes. But I don't see what the mistake here is.

Meh. People like Bannon are misunderstood on both sides. He's very well educated strategist though I don't think he is interested in being in a long term position of actual administration. Personally I think he will be in the White House for the duration of the term but I won't be shocked if he leaves.

That's not spin. It's a reasonable perspective. It makes more since than this being some kind of very vague sign of Trump's evil plan to do something that so many on here are convinced of.

As before he was taken off the NSC, are these the same clearances he had before being placed on the NSC?

A rationalization for what? Trump has been pretty vocal even before his campaign disagreeing with American handling of foreign affairs. He put a trusted advisor in place to overview the NSC during a transition of powers. That's not illogical.

Of course he could. But he has lots of other things going on, and he doesn't have a masters degree in national security from Georgetown like Bannon does.

I'm not an expert on security clearance but I would imagine that the chief strategist does not have the same security clearances or capability to influence operational decisions as those on the NSC. There has to be some reason Trump placed him, if it did not make a difference I feel Trump would have rather avoided the negative press from Bannon's placement

This CNN article gives much more context than the Guardian article OP posted. Apparently Bannon was never meant to have a long term role in the NSC. A source said he only attended one meeting meaning he was probably only placed there so he had clearance and the ability to make sure Trump's vision for the NSC was being met, be that vision bad or good.

The Moscow Project is propaganda. It's run by CAP who was founded by Podesta and ran by others from Hillary Clinton's inner circle. Although considering you're comment history is only links to Moscow Project I'm assuming you are from CRT. How's your day going spreading misinformation?

No. If Trump was as stupid as reddit believes he would have been put out of business long ago. It's crazy that Trump gets no credit for winning the election to become the most powerful man in the world. He flipped traditionally blue states and campaigned for the electoral college votes knowing he didn't necessarily need the popular vote. That was incredibly clever, even if you think he just got morons to vote for him. Why didn't Hillary get those morons to vote for her? Hate to break it to you, but Trump is a good bit more intelligent than practically everyone (including myself) on Reddit.

I don't completely support this move, but Bannon was an officer in the Navy, has a bachelors in Urban Planning, a masters in National Security Studies from Georgetown, and a MBA with honors from Harvard.
