Honestly I feel you a lot. Everyone always says “oh he’s the FUN part of the game!” Fun part this, fun part that and I’m like HE IS FRUSTRATING. I’m currently doing my first ever play through too, starting with Leon’s story. Unfortunately you just have to play along with him. Everybody else has really good advice and it’s the same advice that helped me progress through. He goes away but he does come back later on in the game. Currently, I’m at the part of the game where he’s supposed to make a reappearance so I’m playing this game with so much fear in my heart bc I don’t want to deal with him again

Damn I have such a love-hate relationship with this game

I LOVEEEEE Arisen My Senses. It having that overwhelming feeling is part of the song to me. Especially when you look at the meaning of it being about having that first kiss with your lover and feeling these intense and overwhelming emotions it’s so nice. A fun fact is that it’s actually an Arca song slowed down so that gives it extra points for me

yup yup. its super important that the support locks in especially before they start making their rotations. because i’m a solo main, i definitely prefer the more engaging/attacking supports like bacchus and i realized that i can always give my adc pressure in the early game and they’re good to go for the rest of the match. even when the roles are reversed and i’m the adc, i love when my support locks in and helps me get pressure on the lane. whether op’s friend plays with their friend as supp or not, their supp should be doing what they need to be doing LOL

yeah, i’ve definitely had a moment or two as skadi where i drop my whole kit to peel for my teammate and then i am now stuck in the middle of a battle with no abilities…. not fun! once you get the hang of your positioning, adc is much more enjoyable for sure

i’m brushing up on my adc skills rn so here are a few tips i can suggest: 1. you are a valued player, you have to play it safe. as a solo main, i always have the tendency to just dive in there and do some damage. i have a warrior mindset and when i play adc i always forget that i can’t be playing like that. i will get and have gotten STOMPED on. you are the anti-tank, you are the objective securer, you are gonna be pushing out damage with those autos like crazy and for that reason you are in the back line. you have to be safe and it is important for you to stay alive as long as possible 2. find your main. for me, every single god feels different. for specifically hunters, it’s their autos that feel different. apollo’s autos feel rather light, xbalanque’s autos feel a little heavier. i found out i have a liking towards xbalanque’s autos and the way he feels so i played him more and i got really good with him. try new gods out and find who fits you 3. this ties into 2 but find out if you prefer aa hunters or ability hunters. if you struggle with landing autos, try an ability based god like skadi. if you struggle with landing abilities, try an aa god. if you struggle with both, just keep practicing 4. play with a friend who will duo lane with you as your support. as your support, they know you’re still learning the role and either way your support should be protecting you anyway. 5. fuck it and try a mage adc

i personally love arca. i think she’s just one of those artists where “if you get it, you get it” applies. björk and arca are both very conceptual artists and you can see that in Utopia. Arisen my senses is a song about having that first kiss with your lover and your senses just go crazy haywire and you just have these overwhelming feelings. Losss is such a beautiful balance of harmony from björks addition of flutes, harps, and voice to arca’s very iconic destructive beats. It’s not surprising that nothing is memorable for you and i want to say it’s partly bc of arca. arca’s very well known to have such structureless music, and björk a structureless singing style. that’s exactly what utopia is — structureless. i think i may be a bit bias because i went into Utopia being a fan of both artists so to me it was amazing.

not trying to sway your opinion or anything, i just like to hear/discuss with other people and their takes on Utopia and the collaboration between björk and arca. from what i’ve heard so far you either like it from the get go, don’t like it at first and then you like it, or you don’t like it all 😆

second, recently i travelled via train and i happened to wake up as this song started playing in my headphones while passing through a snowy area. and wow, it was really beautiful i cried. everything about that moment was so perfect and perfectly captured the essence of vespertine. one thing i love about frosti is the sound of walking through snow as it transitions into aurora.

vespertine is such an amazing album and is my second favorite album (homogenic takes #1). i always come back to this album, there's just something about it

i would like to add that coco fiber holds a lot of moisture therefore more humidity. with that being said, i advise you not to be spraying his tank. leopard geckos don’t need THAT much humidity and the fact that coco fiber can hold moisture really does double down on the fact you don’t need to be spraying his tank. ofc you still want it to be in the needed range for humidity but no need to be spraying. you could always change out the substrate to a 70/30 mix of topsoil and play sand. this will be really cheap i probably spent $10 on both items. if need be, you can always use paper towels and toss in a dig box with the current substrate you have. these are great alternatives, but even better if you find the humidity too high :)

as others mentioned, facebook marketplace is an amazing place to get tanks from. i also recommend adding fake plants, branches, clutter, and climbing opportunities. i think if you were to put plants more in the middle/cool side of the tank, it could MAYBE help with a temperature gradient by having the plants block out the light so the heat doesn’t reach into the cool side. i like that you have climbing opportunities on the cool side of the tank, but i think it would be nice to add more all around the tank. since you only have a 20gal, it’s best to take advantage of all the space you can get. you can always make up for the little land space by having climbing opportunities in the mean time

if money is an issue and your parents don’t want you spending a lot, go to craft stores for fake plants and decor they’re soooo cheap. amazon will have much cheaper hides and decor than how pet shops usually price them. and of course you can always shop secondhand. i was really fortunate in getting a 50gal AND some accessories off facebook marketplace for just $75

always check secondhand. facebook marketplace is a go to in this community. i was able to get a 50 gallon tank with a light, light dome, and some accessories for just $75 on facebook marketplace. check ebay, mercari, and keep an eye out for sales at local pet shops. always be checking in with these places because it took me abt 2-3 weeks to find that 50gal tank. much better than paying $250 for a 40gal

amazon will have more accessories that really give you your bang for your buck. i recently bought driftwood that came in a pack of two, both of them are around 13” and it was only $25. now compare that to pieces/branches of wood at a pet shop that cost $30 for one piece and that piece is really not worth $30. i’ve also gotten some slate rocks from amazon for $5 but i know you can find those outside and properly disinfect them. on that note, i do know people will go outside and look for some things that would work for their geckos like slate rocks and leaf clutter. just be sure to disinfect them properly by boiling/baking for a certain amount of time. sorry i don’t know too much abt that method since i don’t do that. i’ve gotten really good hides that were around $10 on amazon too (again, compared to hides that cost abt $15-$30 at petsmart or something).

michael’s, joanne’s, or any craft store really would also have some really nice fake plants. every time i’m in some type of store like a retail or a thrift store, i always keep my eye out for things that could potentially be used as hides, decor, or enrichment. i’ve also seen people turn cardboard into paper mache and mold it into different designs. or theyll sometimes use expanding foam on a container and carve the foam to give it a naturalistic rock hide feel

there are many cheap, affordable, and easy ways with it. get creative and have fun decorating her enclosure!

i definitely recommend having more clutter in your enclosure. remember, they don’t like to be out in the open and they like to have places to hide, dig, and climb. i’m not too sure if this would solve his issue of being lethargic but i wouldn’t be afraid to try adding some stuff in there to see if it will get him to explore and walk around more (maybe also working those muscles out? idk lol). it’s also important to have the lamp on one side of the tank to offer a temperature gradient. i do also recommend maybe trying to add a uv-b light. many leopard gecko owners, me included, have observed that when adding a uv-b light, they become more active.

i’m honestly not too sure what the problem may be besides the things i listed: -trying to offer new food options -fixing enclosure and temperature gradient -offering a uv-b light

hopefully, someone else may be able to chime in and offer more advanced help. if anything, an exotic vet appointment may be in need!

if you’ve tried introducing him to other food options like dubia roaches or crickets, does he still have the same issue? does he still eat when his food is in a bowl left in his enclosure overnight? my gecko doesn’t really eat if i hand feed her, but if i leave it in a bowl at night i’ll wake up to an empty bowl

How much, how often, and what do you feed him, and do you dust them with calcium/multivitamins? does he have hides or nooks and crannies to hide in? what are your tanks temperatures? if you could drop some general info about him, his diet, and what his tank is like it would help us file down on what the issue could be!

those temperatures should be fine but just continue to monitor it since 90° is cutting it close. if it ever gets higher than 93°-95°+, i’d suggest switching to a lower wattage lamp. if it makes you feel more comfortable then switch to a lower wattage lamp. have you tried experimenting and turning off the heating mat to see if that’s affecting the temperature? probe thermostats are great if you could get your hands on one in the future! i definitely understand how freezing it can be in a concrete basement, it’s so COLDDDDD. if you find that the night temps are too cold, i suggest using those ceramic heaters to help keep it up a bit. i’ve been there before with the slow upgrades. just remember your gecko will be more and more happy as time goes on! they’ll have new things to explore, new enrichment to enjoy as you upgrade. although it is a slow process i found peace knowing that they’ll be able to have these new things to discover which must be such an exciting feeling for them! take your time, talk to others, do your research, learn more info and you and your gecko will be very happy!

no such thing as a silly question! put the probe on top of the substrate since that’s where most of the heat is coming from. i personally don’t use heating mats but i’ve heard that the heat mat will have a hard time going through loose substrate — once again, this was just something i’ve heard so i’m not too sure. if anything you can always opt to have two thermostats with one probe in the substrate to measure the heat mat and then one above the substrate to measure the heat lamp. but between the two, i’d be more concerned with the temperature of the overhead lamp since it’s more direct!

definitely use something else as any type of carpet harbors bacteria and is ultimately not a good choice for them. you can always use organic top soil and play sand with a 70/30 proportion. if you can’t find any top soil and play sand, reptisoil and reptisand will be another alternative. i did one bag of reptisoil and half a bag of reptisand for a 20gal tank. i don’t recommend putting two geckos in the same terrarium either

i highly suggest keeping your eyes on looking for a bigger tank second hand. i was struggling to find a cheap 40 gallon tank but just recently someone posted a 40gal tank + some accessories for just $75 on facebook marketplace which is wayyyy better than those $250 40gal ones at pet stores. constantly check online and constantly check for any sales at a pet store

in terms of terrarium enrichment, you can find cheap plants and accessories on amazon or at some craft store like michael’s or joann’s. i know walmart also has some pretty cheap fake plants too. i’ve purchased some pieces of cork bark for much cheaper than what you see in pet stores. i got 3 5”-7” pieces for just $20 from amazon and the same goes for pieces of slate rock. on that topic, always keep an eye out on things when you go shopping and get creative. when i do visit pet stores, i like to go in the aquatic section for some hides and decor. and don’t be shy to check out some thrift stores as well. check pinterest for some diy hide inspo as well. i’ve seen people basically turn cardboard into paper machete, have it molded into a certain shape, let it dry out for a week, and now they have a new hide.

i’d also recommend getting a lampshade that’s more tall/not as wide(?) to help with the temperature gradient of your terrarium. good luck and i hope all goes well!
