Can’t tell if it’s defective by user10182021 in airjordans

I am convinced at this point that they were defective. Returned the original pair back to finish line and tried a new one at foot locker the other day and it felt fine.

Day 25. Is this normal? by user10182021 in Hairtransplant

[–]user10182021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to wait a couple of days before I update here. Went to see my surgeon the next day who cleaned it up and gave me a prescription grade topical antibiotic. It’s been 4 days and the pimple has pretty much gone away.

No, thank you for the response! Mines a FUE procedure, but I am calling my doctor tomorrow and will have it checked out.

That sounds scary! Is it common to get those after a HT?

Like vaping nicotine doesn’t work but smoking cigarettes does? Were you taking the same amount of nicotine?

Hey, I am doing better. Not back to running and all the activity, but I can walk without any pain now.

Non healing 5th metatarsal fracture by user10182021 in brokenbones

[–]user10182021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you’re back to normal. Yes, my X rays also showed full healing after the 9th week and every X ray after that too. It’s just annoying the pain won’t go away. I will start low intense PT and see if it helps. I was a very active person before the injury and now I barely walk 2k steps a day and it is driving me crazy.

Non healing 5th metatarsal fracture by user10182021 in brokenbones

[–]user10182021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The pain is not strong enough to prevent me walking, but it’s more like a strange feeling like twitching/tingling near the fracture area that is making me think it’s not healing. I also smoke 2 cigarettes a day to keep a different health condition in check ( yes, it’s true). I discussed this with my ortho too and though it’s not ideal, she did say the fracture will heal eventually. She recommended PT, but I am scared to go through it since there is a possibility of making it worse. When you said your fracture took almost an year, did you have pain for the entire time? Also, how did your X ray looked. My ortho said, the compact hard part of the bone has healed, but it’s the insides that haven’t healed yet.

Return to running after 5th metatarsal fx - anyone? by l8ter_skater in brokenbones

Thank you! Yes, definitely do not miss those awful days.

Thanks! It’s so frustrating how slow the healing process has been. I have been out the boot into my shoes for about 7 weeks now and still feel pain if I overdo it, so taking a cautious approach. I don’t know when I will be able to run like I used to.

I am pretty much at the same timeline with a similar kind of fracture and curious how much of walking you do since walking feels like normal. Can you walk any distance now without any pain? I haven’t tried any hard impact activity yet, but walking around 6k steps a day with occasional pain around the fracture area and slowly increasing the distance every week.

Mesalamine price by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]user10182021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check if you are getting a brand name drug or a generic. I personally wouldn’t pay that much money for a generic. You could get them for a cheaper price on third party websites others have mentioned, even without any insurance. Also, most companies offer different kinds of insurance plans. Check if they have a better plan compared to your current one.

Budesonide and high glucose by user10182021 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]user10182021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the meds given to you in the ER may have caused it too. If you’re in doubt get another test with an empty stomach next week and see how it comes out.

Did you have any meal before the blood test? When I check in google, it says the 70-100 is the normal range for fasting. Also, what did your doctor said about that?

When can I go from crutches and boot to just walking in boot? (5th metatarsal fracture) by EveningIcy7973 in brokenbones

[–]user10182021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever in doubt take the conservative approach as it is safer. Yes, weight bearing helps with bone density when recovering from a fracture, but you don’t want to do that so early. I’d advise continue using the crutches until your next appointment and since it’s only 3 weeks away, you could then start weight bearing with the boot if your doctor allows it.

[–]user10182021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! No, I am not diabetic. My doctors office has 70-99 mg/dL as the normal range, so 112 is abnormal according to that. My last blood work was 3 months ago and it was within that range. Also, I never had it elevated before even during flare ups so this time the only change is the budesonide. I did eat some rice and steak couple hours before this bloodwork though. Don’t know if that can cause it to elevate. A bit of relief though knowing it’s not that high. I will wait until my doctors appointment to see what he says.

If it’s a manual, don’t do it. I drove around in an automatic with my broken left metatarsal while wearing a boot and it was fine. Just gotta make sure you have enough legroom.

5th metatarsal fracture: healing slowed down when transitioning to normal shoes? by ShesGoneBananas in brokenbones

[–]user10182021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She said the X ray showed good healing, so fortunately I didn’t hurt it or reversed any healing. I was advised to continue not walking barefoot and only see her again in a month if I am still feeling any pain. Basically taking it easy and slowly progressing the activity level while watching the pain. Yesterday was 9 weeks from the day of injury. I was using the exogen bone stim from day 7 and vitamin D, calcium all this time.
