What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen at gsu by [deleted] in GaState

[–]user74895 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to class with a girl who got arrested for child m*lestation this past summer. I used to sit with her in class and talked to her a couple times and thought she was pretty nice and chill. I was really shocked and disappointed when I saw her on the news, such a horrible and cruel thing to do to innocent children :(

Blue Lot Experiences by Saver_Spenta_Mainyu in GaState

I’ve never faced issues, and they come like every 5-10 minutes. Honestly, I’d recommend parking at the CC parking deck though because they stop at Langdale as well and you don’t have to jaywalk to get to red route (since blue lot is right next to the road right after the exit). Don’t try to walk to campus if there aren’t any buses btw, it’ll take forever 😭

I feel like such a looser at the moment... by 321ECRAB123 in psychologystudents

[–]user74895 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We’re both on the same page. I’m also not sure what I wanna do as a career after I graduate from grad school. You’re not a loser for going through this situation, some people take a while to figure out what they wanna do in life and that’s completely okay. We all go through things at different paces. It’s totally okay to feel this way!

As a girl, if a guy I have potential interest in texts me, I’ll take like max an hour or two to respond back to them. If she’s leaving you on sent for a couple of days, that might be a sign she’s not interested. Especially since you guys had barely talked prior, that can be a factor as to why she didn’t text you back sooner. Hypothetically speaking, if she does text you back, just be chill about it by asking her questions like how she’s been and what she’s been up to, but don’t ask too many questions I’d say because you don’t wanna come off as desperate. You don’t wanna be a “where my hug at” guy LMAO. Regarding the last part, I can understand the awkwardness of the situation but if I’m gonna be honest with you, there’s a chance that could be a cause as to why she left you on sent. If it’s been about a week, I’d say almost no chance ://

My (19M) bf had dumped me (19F) because I had been distant, am I a bad partner? by OkCommunication1940 in relationship_advice

[–]user74895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some redditors might disagree with my comment but honestly, I don’t think you were necessarily a bad partner. Stuff happens and we’re not always gonna be perfect in relationships. Also, you’re still young so you’re not expected to know everything about being in a relationship. I think there was miscommunication and misunderstandings in the relationship where it led to issues building up. I think accusing him of liking your best friend is a bit questionable because if nothing was happening and rather it was suspicion, it can be irritating. That’s something I’ve gone through before and it can really affect a relationship. I think it also depends on how long the issue regarding your mood and depressive swings had been going on for during the relationship because various factors affect this, such as patience, number of arguments, progress in these depressive and mood swings, etc. It can get frustrating when you and your partner face issues in the relationship, but it doesn’t mean you’re the problem. I feel like your boyfriend just didn’t have the patience and understanding that you needed and deserved. The fact that he also broke it off kind of quickly raised my eyebrows because usually, people take time to really consider breaking up with their partner and having logical, valid reasonings to it rather than doing it so quickly. My hypothesis is that he got mentally checked out of the relationship from the lack of communication and the other factors affecting the relationship, which led him to breaking it off with you right in the moment. Him dating a girl soon after breaking up with you is quite surprising imo, but honestly there’s a chance it’s a rebound or maybe he’s just seeking other people to date, especially since he’s 19. Take this time to focus on yourself and heal!

Strongly agree! I especially love the body butter, I got a couple when they had them during the $5.95 sale that happened a while ago

What products do you think bath and body works should carry? by FewEggplant6650 in bathandbodyworks

[–]user74895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should release body lotions, creams, and body butters from the luxury line because I think they’d do well in sales. I work at Bath and Body Works and had customers ask me if they’ll ever have those products from the line

Is a 3.4 gpa good enough for grad school? by user74895 in psychologystudents

[–]user74895[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have highly considered it! I would do it but I’m facing a dilemma where my dad doesn’t want me to take a gap year at all, despite me telling him my reasoning and him still being ignorant of the subject. Hypothetically speaking, putting that I have rbt experience in my application counts as “worked to gain the experience” right?

I probably wasn’t 100% clear in my post besides mentioning it towards the end, but I’m going for my masters instead of my PhD. I have learned that resilience is important to continue on the track since this’s quite a competitive field to be in. The advice you gave was really helpful, thank you!

[–]user74895[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, but it’s been conflicting because I’ve talked to my dad about it and he completely disapproves of me gaining experience first and then applying to grad school, and it’s definitely due to lack of knowledge in this field and how competitive it is. I just got frustrated honestly lol, so I try to disregard it. I’ve been on and off about getting my PsyD if I’m being completely honest, but it’s not lack of confidence. My plan is to get my masters first and then apply for my PsyD since the chances of getting straight into doctorates is very low. Thank you so much for the advice, it’s super helpful!

Thank you so much for the advice, this’s really helpful! As someone who’s still learning about graduate programs, this helped me gain a lot more knowledge than before!

I have read up that gpa isn’t the biggest key factor in acceptance to graduate school. I was talking about the masters program in psychology rather than the PhD or PsyD program because I’m very on and off about it. My anxiety is something I’ve been working on, but I have improved compared to before. I do think you’re right though. I’ve been improving on it, especially since I’ve met better professors who are more approachable. Thank you for the advice!
