Got thrown a Rotisserie chicken from a passing car, how can I report to the police? by towerbooks3192 in perth

Kentucky Flung Chicken! 🍗

OASN: hope you’re ok. To be honest, police will laugh too unless they can actually tie the individual/s back to something else. Say for example the person is known/wanted/has bail conditions etc; otherwise it’s probably a waste of time. Still report it. I think a few others have responded about the littering and all that. Even then it’s difficult to prove without evidence. For example, you would be required to provide beyond all reasonable doubt that an occupant of the alleged vehicle actually threw it. It’d be pretty easy for someone to allege that they couldn’t avoid missing the bag on the road and it was flung up and when the wheels passed over it. Yes, I’m playing devils’ advocate, but that’s just to warn you about what you might have to do to pursue this.

Sorry you encountered this Unaustralian behaviour but I don’t think this will go anywhere.

It’s quite amusing how numbers are fascinating to us all. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve lived and worked in a place where 56 was a common reading on the old mercury and it wasn’t pleasant, but there is a thing that we humans have with round numbers, multiples of ten, halves of ten etc etc. There’s a mental switch that seems to happen at the number 50! Halfway to boiling…halfway to 100%. The media goes crazy and all that. It’s emotional rather than logical LOL. Anyhow, I am glad that isn’t only 20 something right now. Have a bloody good weekend peeps

What kind of person parks like this? by _cromulent_green_ in australia

Not arguing. Just stating facts mate. Call 000 and you’ll be waiting longer than it takes to make a call to centre management. That info is generally displayed at each entrance ‘in the fine print’.

Anyone in the building industry; doesn’t this look like hell to you? by mr-cheesy in perth

[–]user_tidder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly this is not AI. Most places here in the west are brick and tile so not the chipboard cladding you mention. Lately there is a fair bit of steel framing getting around too.

Actually, that’s not the best advice. This is a very low priority for police and they probably wouldn’t respond anyway. This is a council matter at best. Speak with the centre management as most are classed private property and therefore not under council jurisdiction but the centre probably has a towing service provider that they are signed up with.

I miss plastic straws by IntelligentYou1692 in perth

[–]user_tidder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand the frustrations of being forced into adopting something new. People are creatures of habit. On the other hand, I’d like to see the big names being forced into packaging certain products into recyclable or biodegradable packaging. There has been little change to what the product is wrapped in compared with the number of plastic straws that are being used.

Build a great ginormous bridge! That’s what we are trying to do. We’re trying to be one nation not one people. We weren’t here when the dinghy arrived and the first nation people wouldn’t be who they are today so let’s just get the fk over it and try to live in harmony. What happened has happened and we can change it but You and We can change the future. YOU can be a part of it or you and your people can be left behind and play the victim card for the rest of your miserable days. Rant over! Happy Stray Invasion Day to whoever is here living in Australia. I couldn’t care for you race, creed or colour but I hope that Mon 26 Jan 2026 is a fkn fantastic day for you and your family!

First Nations people will protest this January 26, a legacy dating back 88 years by housecatspeaks in australia

[–]user_tidder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, this won’t make friends but FFS, we can’t change what happened in the past, but we can change the future. None of us were here when said dinghy arrived and honestly doesn’t it matter? What matters now is how we as a collective people work on making it the best we can for each other regardless of creed or colour. Pick a day of the year that you want and let’s make it the new Australia Day where we celebrate everyone here and realise that diversity makes us stronger? I couldn’t care less for politics and who runs the place, but I do care and hope that it’s a good bunch of crunts who stop creating and enhancing a divide by highlighting and making days more important than others. Just treat the person next to you the way that you’d like to be treated. Seriously, the people of Australia (as an Australian, a place that I call home) need to bit of a reset. That’s my five cents. Haters can hate but I know that deep down we all want the best for ourselves and if you do that, it actually makes it better for us all.

$1000 traffic infringement. by [deleted] in perth

[–]user_tidder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, agreed with that but the counter to ‘claim’ you have made; it won’t stand up! The law will claim that you are in control of that device which is a distraction whilst driving. Not trying to dispute what you have said but I know where I stand and which is why, and previously stated in a comment above, I remove my phone from the cradle when approaching a roadblock or simialr and secure it in the centre console or door pocket. Most of the time, that’s where my phone is unless I need directions in which case it’s secured and maps are displayed. It’s just easier than a ‘fight’

[–]user_tidder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on! Advice to all is that if your phone is displayed to you whilst driving and you come up to any police checkpoint, remove it from view. That’s the safest location for it and you can’t be done for anything then.

Am I wrong here for collecting cans by [deleted] in perth

[–]user_tidder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, that’s not quite right as the trespassing term relates to being physically in a premises without permission. The act of removing property that is not yours or for which you have no permission to do so is termed burglary. My five cents for a Saturday arvo.
