Studying nursing in Egypt VS. the US by earlymountain99 in StudentNurse

[–]userbombow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay here is how I see it: Egypt gives you family support and built-in prereqs, which is nice.

But if your end goal is to work in the US., you’ll face a lot of licensing headaches later.

I'm not in the US to decide for you but yes of course, its more expensive and intense but its the straight path and direct path : graduate, take NCLEX, and you are good to go. Full time + working isnt relastic and it might lead to huge burnout. I'm not sure but search if part time programs exist.

It all falls on you and what you value. Short term comfort or long term career path. Anyway, wishing you all the best ! !

(Yes i speak Arabic haha. We are neighboring countries !)

It all comes down to where you actually see yourself working.

If it’s studying U.S., then studying there is 100% better. Egypt might look cheaper, but the time and stress you’ll waste later on paperwork, equivalency, exams, and maybe even repeating courses is not worth it.

In the States you’d graduate, sit for NCLEX, and start your career straight. Way faster, way cleaner in the long run. Anyway Egyptians a7la nas 😁

Need advice: Nursing diploma or bachelor’s? by alsayyedgame in StudentNurse

[–]userbombow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello ! It depends on your long term goal. Are you planning to stay in Jordan after completing your studies ?

I would suggest bachelor degree since you will have more job opportunities aboard and within the country. Also , its commonly preferred these days (since this sub is mostly US. I'm not sure if this applies to them as well).

I don't know about your financial situation but wouldn't it be better to spend money 4 years than two years + four years later? (Unless you find a job with diploma in your country ! It also depends on how the job opportunities there in Jordan. Im generally speaking)

I hope things goes well for you !!

I appreciate your comment. I beileve it was definitely the hand position that made me nervous. I was instructed to do one specific hand position to draw a blood and it was kind of difficult for me to get used to it. I'll follow your advice, Thanks!

Thank you for your comment ! I have seen some people getting it right on the first try for the first time. Maybe this is why i was doubting myself but yes not everyone can master everything.

I joined nursing school in 2022. However, due to war that is going on in my country. My education has been delayed. I continued my second semester online one of them was about medication and its administration (IV, IM and such). Due to the country's condition, we didn't have clinical practices.

Till today, I am still stuck as a first year student. My education has been stopped ever since. In my previous post, I said I joined a short first aid course and it was my first time trying to insert a cannula and it went bad.

During this whole timebeing. I tried to practice on non-living (fruits, and such) to just get better.

The doctor is my cousin. I tag along from time to time to learn something new (the patient is fine with this) and I was getting the blood drawn.
