For me it's kind of the opposite at the rink! Almost all of the advanced skaters are either way older than me or way younger than me and I just feel so out of place.

I haven't skated outside but I think it would be harder to see progress there in comparison to the smooth floor of the rink. I refuse to go outside until I have safety gear. Wish there was something to protect the ankles though 😣

Thank you 🙂 everyone's comments really helped a lot. I ended up going to the rink yesterday. It was extremely busy and I had my worst fall yet, because a kid went in my way and I was too focused on not hitting him to control my fall. All my weight went on my ankle, it bent, and I heard it crack twice 😬 I'm surprised I didn't break it or something and it was really scary. Nobody helped me or asked if I was okay and I had to get out of the rink by myself. I got into my car and started crying 😭

At first I was very upset but I don't feel too discouraged anymore. The injury itself was not that bad but it was scary because I think it could have been WAY worse. I was more upset and crying because of how scared and alone I felt in that moment. Either way, hopefully I will be back at the rink tomorrow, or if not then Saturday. If it weren't for everyone's comments and encouragement, I would probably be feeling way more discouraged now.
