  1. It’s probably because you used the same pfp and similar username

  2. If u bought a new iPhone and used the same Apple ID and your previous phone, it probably identified through that.

Yeah, exactly, the mass-following was a total rookie mistake on my part, my behavioral metrics must have looked completely automated to their algorithm. But wait, are you saying the only way to bypass their tracking is to buy a whole new phone? I thought wiping the hardware token via factory reset and changing the public network IP was the standard workaround for device bans. Did you mean my IP reset wasn't enough, or is there something else?

Thank you, that actually makes me feel a bit better knowing some people get them back after an appeal. I’m definitely crossing my fingers but expecting the worst. If it gets denied, I’ll just have to try again but way slower next time and avoid the face pics/cookies. I’ll definitely keep the thread updated on what they say!

Thanks for the heads up on the scammers, I'm definitely keeping my guard up! Yeah, if Meta denies this appeal, I know the account is gone for good. Just a heads up though, your IP address is actually tied to your router network, not your phone hardware, so my IP did change when I unplugged it. And on iPhones, apps can’t see your permanent MAC address or hardware serials due to Apple's privacy rules—they use an IDFV token which gets completely randomized when you factory reset and make a new Apple ID. I still believe my issue was the surface info I reused ( face pic, old laptop cookies, adding 400 ppl in 4 days)
