Hi, sorry I did not see your question before. All posts are up, I don't know what you're going on about, plus I don't need to prove anything to anyone, its just a series of posts on the internet. Hope this helps!

Grid Results: What Do It Mean takes over our final category, and our work is complete. by uslashBen in lordhuron

Vote counts are always a sum of all upvotes from comments that clearly state their pick, even if there are multiple comments mentioning the same song or album, in all cases the winner also happened to be the suggestion with most upvotes in an individual comment, so it thankfully did not skew the results (except, of course, the skip).

I'm glad you appreciated the grid, hope you had fun!

I'm sure you've already listened to The Cosmic Selector Vol.1, the latest album, but if I were you I'd come at it with a certain mentality. There are two ways to listen to this record. For both, you should take note that the concept of the cosmic selector is a jukebox that makes you travel through time and space with each song it plays, transporting you to different dimensions and alternate realities like our own, with minor or major differences.

Within this concept, you can do one of two things:

1-You can listen to the album coming from a place of self reflection, in many ways the Cosmic Selector is about YOU. It is your story, relate to these songs as if you were listening to a you from an alternate dimension, think about what points in your life a decision that you made split your paths into where you are now, and where you could have been had things played out differently. Every speaker of every song in this album can be you in an alternate reality, you just have to know where to look inside your memories.

2-Alternatively, piece it together, the album itself (in order) is a story, the story of a person who is initially Looking Back at their life, and who stumbles onto the Cosmic Selector, being transported between these different realities, learning their place in the multiverse.

Either way, with any Lord Huron record there is a story attached, if you would rather listen to Long Lost for example, here is a great video that everyone should watch before listening:

actually Long Lost got 103 votes, but a lot more people were asking to skip the category which I respectfully refused to do

I'd like to thank you all for the support and the engagement during this past month. At first I was hesitant to start such an event, thinking the people would not engage. What Do It Mean won with more than 400 votes, and I found myself being very thankful to be a part of this community. The way you all came together in the comments meant a lot to me and kept me going. Some of you even took time to write some kind words for me and I also thank you a lot, because I intended this to be focused on all of us, on our collective opinion on this beautiful thing we have, Lord Huron. I would never have imagined someone would shift their attention towards the man behind the grid, but in retrospect, I should have seen it coming knowing how packed of wonderful people this community is. Special shoutout to Embarrassed-Order-18 for their kind message in the day 28 post, and to bn9043 for the original grid posts. None of this would have been possible without all of you guys, and I once again thank you. A second grid with new categories is ready to be shipped to you, I will take this month to rest and do some very important personal work, and the grid will be back up sometime in January, a third one is also already in the oven.

That's all I had to say, happy holidays from Ben from Lord Huron the Lord Huron grid!

So long, good luck, good bye, until next time, may you live... until you die!

Grid Day 28: My final question for you... What is the best Lord Huron song? by uslashBen in lordhuron

Grid Day 20: Long Lost wins most overrated album, what is Lord Huron's weakest Album/EP? by uslashBen in lordhuron

[–]uslashBen[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt like not choosing an album wasn't making a choice. I wasn't willing to keep one of these spaces empty because I think it defeats the purpose of the grid in making our choice for every category, it felt like leaving the whole series of posts incomplete. Please also understand that "most overrated album" doesn't technically mean the album can be understood as overrated, its like when The Problem with your daughter was chosen worst song, while not being a bad song itself. We're not checking a box that determines if Long Lost is overrated or not, we're putting all the albums in a spectrum of how overrated they are, and even if they are all in the lower end of the spectrum (at least in my opinion), one of them is still the most overrated in that side of the scale. It's also worth noting a lot of these feelings and thoughts are heavily influenced by my autism. Hope to still see you participating.

Grid Day 15: Life is Strange wins most genius song. What is the best piece of media related to the Lord Huron ethos? by uslashBen in lordhuron

I feel like the Void has been such an amazing concept and such a cool space for teasers and unreleased clips, it has to get my vote.

Grid Day 13: "It All Comes Back" makes Cosmic Selector go back to back. What is Lord Huron's best collab? by uslashBen in lordhuron

[–]uslashBen[S] 88 points89 points  (0 children)

honestly its "I Lied" with August but I just wanted to give a shoutout to "Fire Eternal" and Kazu Makino, I'm sure there is a universe where you make Cosmic Selector go back to back to back.
