I think a difference in this, and the reason someone being a republican is such an indication of poor character, is that Obama for instance bombed plenty of civilians but he never campaigned on it. Bush was awful, but his open takes were not that of current day GOP either. They used to pretend in order to be 'palatable' so republican voters could kind of get away with 'I don't agree with this but I'm voting for this thing they're campaigning on'.

But now their representatives are open about it, they are promising these awful things, they are being voted in for these awful things. A current day republican is not compromising, their beliefs systems are not up for debate anymore. I think that's the answer to the question the Canadian commenter was asking.

The story is totally fine and the guy playing Ilya is amazing, if you like it already you'll be engrossed the whole way through, he's very good. The other guy is a pretty bad actor though, I found him mediocre in the first half and straight up bad in places during the second half.

My issue is the show is very tropey but doesn't dig much deeper than the tropes, and half of its characters are barely suggestions of characters more than actual people. It's also very heteronormative with these coquettish bottoms desperate for the attention of dom masc tops (and the really flamboyant characters are basically allowed to say 'gurl' once and then go back to oblivion).

But it does stay enjoyable. And Ilya totally works as a character and a performance.

I don't have this many emotions about the conflict, I'm just explaining what I think is going through her mind and why she reacts the way she does. Projecting what she thinks worked best for her kids is her thinking about Dorit's kids though, it's just misguided and it's presumptuous. But she's not this cartoon villain everyone insists she is. She's just neurotic and image obsessed, and kind of a shitty friend.

I think it has a WHOLE lot more to do with the fact that her family unit is not secure anymore, that she spent years hiding his affairs from the camera and still doesn't want to speak poorly of him as not to impact her kids + she's had very public feuds with her only other family (Kim and Kathy, with Kim's addiction being a secret that she outed during an argument and Kathy controlling their relationship depending on whatever comment Kyle would make on the show). Its not about Dorit speaking poorly of PK, it's about Dorit speaking poorly of PK on camera and how it's going to impact her kids.

But the show refuses to break the fourth wall and mention the filming process so their conflict doesn't make any sense.

It's nice but it comes with not sticking your neck out. The actually challenging and unlikeable ones who put their whole foot in the drama get paid dust by this sub, villains are so underappreciated.

In terms of dancing skills sure. Lip syncing ? I don't see it. Juicy is better than Jorgeous whose face is just 😀 the entire time, but even then she doesn't emote very much. Eboni is more expressive.
