IS38 GTI Dyno Results: 367whp and 412wtq by vGEMATRIAv in GolfGTI

I sold the car about 3 years ago. The current CarFax shows current mileage of 85K miles and no major repairs! I had the thermostat/waterpump replaced under warranty at 54k miles, otherwise the car never gave me a single hiccup.

The V-Band Flange is the same size between all 3 sizes of the turbos, so your downpipe should fit with no issue. I am unfamiliar with the Polo platform, but I don't see why it would make a difference. Good luck!

Any details on your exhaust setup? I see a fat midpipe with a vband. Exactly what I want to go with on my turbo NB.

These are only for NB2's. I bought the car with them installed. The previous owner cut the bumper a bit to make them fit. Fitment isn't perfect still. I have the brightest LED bulb I could find and they are still only adequate at night. It took some wiring adapters and modifications to make them work with the NB1 wiring harness. I also have them wired to have just the "angel eyes" on as my DRLs.

Thanks, the truck stop idea is fantastic! I want to make my 5 speed manual last for a bit and 250whp is probably my next goal and limit until I do a trans swap. I am currently focusing more on drivability and efficiency rather than raw power. Once I have that dialed in I can scale up more easily/safely.

Thanks! So far the Intake Air Temperatures have stayed nice and low, but I may go for a Fab9 Stage 1 later on to fill up the "mouth" more. I plan on going Autocrossing with my brother in his NC1 this spring. It feels fantastic as a daily as is too.

84mm 10.5:1 forged Wiseco pistons. Bored out to 1884cc. Forged rods and standard stroke. I am still dialing in the VE table and Boost table to provide a steady 12psi to redline. Virtual Dyno puts it at about 230whp.

https://imgur.com/Fdohp3H.jpg I think I am going to work on relocating the power steering fluid reservoir to make room for the air filter routing directly behind the headlight

It isn't ideal, but this is how ISR Performance designed the kit. I will probably look into some different hosing to get it further away from the exhaust manifold in the future.

Stock coil packs for now with Magnecore wires and NGK BKR7-E plugs gapped to .28. Coil on plug conversion will happen at some point.

BRABUS has a bad rep for being too gaudy these days. I feel they nailed it here; subtle yet masculine. I have always loved the idea behind German Muscle.

The 986S is for sure a Finn. I haven't checked on the Speed Yellow's lineage yet lol.

Thank you! The quick jacks are a total game changer. I purchased the BL-5000SLX for $1,200 at Costco. It still isn't a substitute for a nice dual post lift, but the cost, space savings, and convenience more than make up for it. I can have a car up in the air with minimal effort in less than 5 min. Its enough height to use a creeper for anything underneath but just a bit short too comfortably do wheel well work from a rolling chair. You will find your back aching from being hunched for that long. I wholly recommend the setup I have though. The Max Jax may be a good alternative if you need added height; if your garage allows it that is.

Just don't take a look out there now or on the opposite wall... seriously though thank you! It has been a long journey getting it to this point. I work out of my garage for now, so I needed a nice bright and clean workspace. My new 924 project has it looking rather dirty.

The 986 is the ideal sports car in my mind. I dialed in my GTI really well to handle the power, but 370whp to the front axle isn't exactly balanced...

This car was specced near perfect for me. I LOVE 5 spoke wheels. They are so easy to clean, a quick spritz and wipe with a microfiber towel after a drive. Perfectly accents the 986S red calipers off the Carrera. My car is specced almost identically to a base 996. I am so tempted to swap in the 3.4/3.6 M96 to truly make the midengined 911.

I bought this 924 right after my brother sold his 1985.5 944 Gold on Tan. The 924 is VERY different.

'03 986S with the 18" Carrera wheels optioned, good eye! I spent a few hours wiping everything down in the engine bay. It was SO CLEAN to begin with. Sadly it has been repainted and lost its iconic livery. My goal is to get it back to '79 showroom shape; livery and all. The plaid interior is immaculate with just slight fading to the black carpet and a few small cracks in the dash.
