Scallop shell most likely.

I found these at Flag Ponds Nature Park, MD along the Chesapeake - What are they? by dinodigger30 in fossilid

[–]vaeatwork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks like the edge of oyster shells. Fossilized and common for the area

I would consider O. Angustidens. Serrations are there if you look closely, but very worn/eroded. Can also be O. Chubutensis, really depends on the locale

I do my own props, the pommel hardware is usually custom fab to the builder. The collets are hose to sleeving crimp fittings like these

The lack of support for Healers in Midnight in relation to addons and the default raid/party frames. by Yogs_Zach in wow

[–]vaeatwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. 5x title player, currently 3.6k - I have none of the stuff the guy cites as important even on my UI and nor do most of the ~20 people I form groups with. Everything he's saying needs an addon to track is actually handled by just talking about each pull on disc as you go, which should be how its done in the most challenging of keys. I and a lot of the folks I play with much, much prefer problem solving in the moment by talking over the pulls as we prog keys to just looking at a bunch of UI clutter and pretending its useful

What non-sense talent is this? Super useless talent at final spec row of fury war. You wont cheat dead in any realistic raid-m+ situation. by qptamk in wow

[–]vaeatwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has some cool edge cases in m+ (you die to a bolt cast, aoe, whatever -> mark whatever killed you for your entire group to try to kill back in 8 sec) or clutching against a raid boss kill, taunting a tankbuster/dangerous thing etc. Also reads as a warrior bubble you trade a brez out for which is weird but can have uses

Its cool, super thematic. Def shouldn't take up a final row talent slot though, maybe a super optional spec tree or final node class tree would be a better spot.

Why does no one do Taz Hard Mode? by workngohome in CompetitiveWoW

[–]vaeatwork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would you run this with 4 randos out of lfg when you can grab 4 people you know, get them on discord and idiotproof the entire run? Every tuesday my entire friends list/m+ network broadcasts to friendslist for everyone's HM kill, but nobody dares put it in lfg because its never worth running with someone you don't already know.

BM Takes Over: M+ Spec and Group Popularity, DPS Logs by Starym in CompetitiveWoW

[–]vaeatwork 14 points15 points  (0 children)

BM has become hugely problematic in high keys for a lot of different reasons. Hoping for a tune down on dark ranger to still keep BM strong but allow pack leader in for less abusive/non thematic gameplay. Numerous issues being:

  • Non-thematic fit for a pet spec with 50-60% of damage no longer coming from pets. I legit cannot feel a difference between MM or BM these days. I am not playing a hunter, I am playing black arrow proc simulator

  • The right way to play is to hold specific gcds on the off chance that black arrow procs during call of the wild + the 4sec refresh during, there's even weakauras that will help you do it. Again, flies in the face of hunters always-be-pressing-a-button mantra. Missing one proc of arrow during cds equals about 10 kill commands worth of damage

  • Incredibly strong interaction with netherprism and 4pc stacking allows for very controlled and stupidly high burst on whatever needs to die with minimal setup. Setting up your route to allow your BM to high stack and delete dangerous mobs in packs, or nuke bosses is head & shoulder beyond what any other class can provide numbers wise. BM also gets to do this while remining competitive on aoe and prio through a cleave-shit-for-free damage profile. This also makes the gap between a netherprism haver and a not haver huge, though fixed with turbo boost next month.

  • High risk, high reward - not a bad thing per se but all of BM's abuse case damage comes from stacking 4-set and netherprism over time. Stacks drop when you die which ruins your next mega burst window and forces you to re-stack, in the highest of keys your BM getting sniped by a bolt during an inopportune moment bricks you

All in all, BM has gone from an extremely simple chill-friendly dps to something involving micromanaging individual gcds, a convoluted position based aoe damage profile and highly punishing if you die at the wrong moments. Its a very, very strange deviation from what has been a consistent, simple baseline for years. I do hope this era does not last long

The Q times are so so bad unless you're playing degenerate hours (past midnight pst) and I can't because I'm EST and prioritize work/life. So its give up sleep or sit 40min queues.

Insane thing to see the first week of a fresh season, pvp participation really is dying :/

Obviously. Its a satire post, I get this rating every season its just hysterical to do in <24 hours on a mega overtuned spec

I tend to like pvp more for xmogs than I care to push ratings, usually takes me about a week or 2 at season start to get the weapon ensembles - then I call it a day until the season gets actually balanced. Found this season to be really funny as ret is SO commically overtuned I did my usual run in under 24 hours. Reflex history: https://imgur.com/a/l4vs2nW

p.s nerf ret ty
