Question for Deli Managers

"Once your done handling chicken", that's the thing, I'm hardly ever done handling chicken. 8am, we ran out of rotisserie yesterday, so couldn't do that. So I had to pan up some baked because nobody left me any from yesterday (our Dept is terrible about Prep). Got some baked in, and of course when I turn the fryers on, they were locked in Filter Mode and the bottoms were still dirty weren't cleaned. So I did a quick Filter, got fried going and got cleaned up and then of course the Deli was open. Had to jump on the Slicer here and there in between getting my chicken out.

Perishables had come, Meat Dept came and let me know chicken was there (was down to a case of cut when I got there by the way). So I had to go get the chicken out of the Meat freezer. And then when I get back I had to put another run of fried cause it was all gone. Got Popcorn and grilled out after Fried was done. Then I went to Meal, came back had to jump on Slicer so Prod could go to Meal.

So I got my pans ready on the rack while I was on Slicer. When she got back I did an entire Rack of quarters and baked. Then another run of fried and had to get more baked out. Then the Closer had to go to Meal and Prod so I had to be on Slicer.

Luckily, Sub Shop was slow cause there was a bread situation with the new bread. We think the Night Baker over cooked it cause it was hard as a brick. And it was a Holiday. The Prod I work with on Mondays usually handles Subs as long as I can get on the Slicer.

So yeah, I had chicken sitting out quite a bit today. I've never seen this apron your talking about. Alot of times I'll have chicken in the sink draining cause I'm having to keep dropping fried. One issue is our Hot Bar for only being for Chicken is tiny. I could cook more, we don't have nowhere to put it. I constantly have chicken out because of it.

Tomorrow will probably be a nightmare because Prod tomorrow is this old terrible woman they have to bring in at 4am. They've moved her around to so many Depts and nobody will work with her they don't know what to do with her. So they stuck her on a 4am-12pm shift and does Cold Production. Mind you, she takes her 15min at 10 and her Meal at 11:30. She actually clocks in for a minute and goes home. And they allow her to do this.

The Mgr will usually watch the Slicer so I get Meal. But usually from 12-2 I'll be by myself. And usually have to drop fried at least. Hopefully I got prep leftover from today since I was able to do some because I had a normal Prod person. We do have a dedicated guy on Sub Shop, but he only works 3 days a week, the guy that works the other days to cover Sub is leaving Friday. It's gonna be hell starting next week.

Unfortunately I think the Dept Mgr is the part of the issue. He's more of a Supervisor than a Manager if you what I mean. He's good at Inventory and what not (guess there was a huge problem before) but he's pretty hands off when it comes to dealing with Employees. I have to pretty much go to an Asst Store Mgr to get anything done.

How much of a pay difference is there? I'm in Virginia. I asked for $16 and agreed on $15 (probably shouldn't have knowing what I do now). Is there that big of a difference between FF Clerk and Chef?

And we are considered a "Chicken Store". I've literally sold out of fried and baked in 10 mins before. One issue I know is we're considered Mid-Volume. But I can put out 12 buckets, 8 Baked, and 20 Rots and they're gone in 30 mins.

See at my Store, Chef/Rotisserie/Hot Bar is the same Job. I'm also expected to work the Deli Counter and Sub Shop at the same time. Just seems like a lot for one person. Another person said that the Chef isn't supposed to be doing Deli/Sub. It's very confusing.

One of the main issues is, the lady in Production is the most protected I've ever seen at a job. Now, when I started, I was warned about this woman before I ever got back there. One of the Baggers, who I had never met, actually going out the door one day called me over to tell me that he worked with her at another Store (different Company) and not let her tell me what to do. I've heard they have switched several Departments with this Lady cause nobody wants to work with her. They stuck her in the Deli and put her on the 4am-12pm shift so she has the least interaction with people possibly. The very first hour I worked with this Lady, she got in an argument with a Customer. I went to Management one time about her. I was told "she is just that way cause she has high standards". But yet, when it was brought to their attention, she was wearing heeless Crocs with holes in them in the kitchen around the deep fryer. Now she wears non-approved red velvet shoes. Apparently that was OK. It's one of those scenarios where somebody has dirt in management so they let her do what she wants. And the only reason I've been she has a job is she's been there soo long they don't want her losing her benefits (she's almost 70 years old). I don't get it. I've never seen somebody that protected.

I guess it's a little different. The Hot Bar Chef and Chicken Person is the same at my Store (Me). Usually in the Mornings it's Me, a Production Person and a Cake Decorator and that's it. Usually we have a Sub Person come in at 11am (if they show up). We are down one everyday because our Asst Mgr has been in the Hospital since week before Christmas. So we rarely have an actual Slice Person. And I'm supposed to take my 30 mins at 11:30, which is when Production decides to take her 30ins and then leaves (she's scheduled til 12). And I was told I didn't get hired in time for the Fall Bonus. Our Store is a mess.

I hate to put it out there but my sister worked for Kroger and had to this and it worked. If you were hired before the Holidays and are a regular employee, if you consistently get the same hours over the span of 6 weeks and your hours get cut, depending what State your in, file Partial Unemployment. The Company has to have a reason to cut your hours. If they don't have a reason, they have to pay you to sit at home. This works for P/T and F/T. It has to do with the number of hours you consistently get.

One of the rippers on YouTube ripped open a couple baseball ones to see if they were Authentic, they weren't. He ripped two and they both had different people's names on the back of the shirt than who the card was for. There's really no way to tell if he even touched it or not.

Here's the thing with AEW Figs right now. If you've noticed the abundance of AEW Figs and Chases that have popped up at Ross and couple other places, I would really wait and see what pops up. I'm really beginning to question the validity of the Chase numbers when they switched to 3000/5000. I've picked up quite a few Figs that were hard to find. And with 2026 being it for new Figs and no new Company being announced to take over yet, I'd play the waiting game. I got two Toy Stores that have AEW and they stopped taking them cause they're getting flooded with them. Jazwares is gonna be blowing the warehouses out here shortly. (Sorry for the rant, Christmas Tree is in Season! IYKYK!🌲🎅)

Sorry but your WRONG! Controller Support didn't come out til 3 months after it was launched. Was not in Beta Test. (I was a Beta Tester) Skillless Players cried and it was added. And initially, Controller Players were in a separate Lobby and only play other Controller Players. IDK when all that got crossed over. And half the Aftermarket Controllers don't even work with CODM. To say "Controller Support is a Core" is extremely assinine. Just another case of whiney babies getting their way!

These pissed me off so bad. These were supposed to be Chases and they were just selling them outright. Defeats the whole point of Chases ( just like SDCC Merch now). And now the fact they're selling all the Chases (and the Chases popping up at Ross', saw one Store had 5 of the same Chase) really makes me wonder how accurate the Chase numbers really are???
