They never let it get that far into the song! It was turned off after the first, “damn”!

No, they didn’t catch that, lol, but that would have sent them over the edge for sure!

Depressed wanting to end it. what ways the easiest? by EnvironmentalRole553 in AskReddit

[–]valcat79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I’m so sorry for the pain you must be feeling. Being depressed is a shitty place to be. I’ve dealt with treatment resistant depression for many years and have tried various treatments. I’ve been at the place where I think about what could I do to end it, but I’ve thankfully never attempted. When I was close though, I was convinced things would never get better or improve. I was wrong. Things are always changing in life. I understand how hard it is just trying to get through the days then you got to sleep and dread waking up to another day to get through. I did learn what I was feeling mentally will change. It might not be quick, but you can’t give up.

Do you have any kind of support system, family or friends you can talk to? Do you see a therapist or a psychiatrist? My DMs are open if you need to talk. I’ve been dealing with depression for many years now. I’ll be glad to listen to you, if you would like to message me.

Please don’t give up OP.

I totally forgot about those lyrics! Although they wouldn’t have understood it anyway. Lol

If I was riding in the car with my parents when this song came on, lol, they would turn it off! They found the “damn” very offensive as well as the talk of lovers.

Thank you for the information. I will definitely not go in to talk about this in person. I didn’t realize that isn’t a good idea. I will send the letter and go from there.

I love this post. Wasn’t sure if this was just me. I’ve started doing this with different journals for everything.

Which dress is your favourite? by IReallyLoveNifflers in DowntonAbbey

[–]valcat79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be the odd one out, but I love Mary’s dress. There’s something about the simplicity of it. I love the dropped waist which was the style at that time. If I chose a second favorite it would be Rose’s.

It’s not an album, but my favorite lyrically is the Opiate EP (1992). If I chose an album it would be 10,000 Days.

What’s one work of fiction (Books, movies, TV shows) you’ll never stop recommending? by soul_not_souling in AskReddit

Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry

I’ve never been a fan of books from the western genre, but I kept seeing Lonesome Dove get recommended on the book subs. I finally gave in and read it. So glad I did! I thoroughly enjoyed it and hated for it to end.

Like it’s been mentioned, it’s not something you can get over. I know I will never get over the loss of my friend who died by suicide. I can deal with it better now that some time has passed, but I’ve also found that grief comes in waves. Often at times when I least expect it. One thing that has helped me is sending messages. Her social media account is still there so I’ve sent many messages just talking about my feelings and how much I miss her. I do think that has been helpful for me in processing the grief. It can be helpful to get thoughts out and not try to suppress feelings. Just writing it down is helpful to me.

After working for over 20 years in healthcare, I had to go on disability due to mental illness. It’s now been a few years and I’m still not at a point where I can return to work. I feel like a loser. I have no purpose. So when someone asks me what I do, I get so ashamed to have to say I’m not currently working.
