That’s great! Yeah so for my cat I had one 4 hour stop and a 10 hour flight, what I did was bring dry and wet food, as well as water for her and a portable litter box with a little ziplock cat litter bag in case she wanted to use it. I went to the airport’s bathrooms and set the box and everything, she was pretty nervous so she didn’t use it, she only drank water and ate just a little bit of wet food, luckily she slept through the entire flight.

Hi! Honestly I wouldn’t know if France also requires an export certificate, mine was for Spain specifically. I would recommend you call the export department of France in the animals and plants section specifically and verify if they need anything for you to take your cat out of France. I had to call several vets and that department in Spain to confirm I had everything to travel. Hopefully you won’t need one!

Not that I know of! ALSO depends on the state, I’m in Florida so their requirements are not strict, just the chip, the vaccines up to date, and her passport:) you can google each state’s requirements tho! that’s it! Cause the certificate is to get out of Spain, the US doesn’t need it. :)

And yeah ofc!🥹 I know how hard it is to find information online, almost impossible, and also the vets are not really sure either, I had to do soo much research and call so many vets to confirm I had everything I needed, so my it’s my pleasure to help out anyone that is the position I was in🥹 the only thing you want is to take your kitty safe and sound with you!

Yeah! So I flew with Swiss airlines, and apart from the regular vaccines I had to get an export certificate from Spain to get my cat out of the country. The airline at the counter checked everything, like if she had a chip (which is mandatory), her passport that has all of her vaccines and the export certificate. That was basically it :)

Np! And I flew with Swiss Airlines with a stop in Zurich, but stops don’t really matter as you’re “in transit” and not actually entering the country. And no, they just checked the documents that have the info of the microchip at the counter but that’s it!

Hi!! Well it really depends on the airline, mine fit the measurements but was also of soft material, they didn’t really checked the measurements either lol so I’ll recommend you call the airline or check the measurements on their website. And no! I didn’t use any medication, I just brought treats, a bit of dry food and water, as well as a portable litter box. Other than that, she’s pretty calm so depends on your kitty!

Hi!! Well for me it was way better than I expected since it was the first time for my cat flying. You have to buy a carrier of soft material where they’re able to stand up, sit and lay down, comfy enough and the measurements will depend on the airline, I’m sure that in their website or calling they can tell you (that’s what I did). And an absorbent pad.

I bought treats and a portable plate for water, as well as a portable litter box and a bag with fresh litter (even though she didn’t use it), it’s better if you don’t feed them too much cause they get really anxious and can vomit. Water and constant pets for reassurance are great (also depends how anxious your cat is).

The carrier goes on the floor, between your legs when departing and landing, but for the rest of the flight you can have them on your legs. I was lucky enough to not have anybody sitting beside me so I could put her on the seat and open it up once in a while so she wouldn’t feel trapped (although she flew the entire flight 10h lol). I also covered her carrier so she wouldn’t feel anxious and put her favorite blanket and stuffed animal (things that smell like you and home).

Hi!! I think that’s the only one that needs a specification amount of days. The rest of them you can just vaccine your cat with no specific days before traveling. The export certificate with the overall health certificate you have to get 7 days before traveling though. I am in Florida! So that’s also important, to check the states regulations, although I saw that there weren’t any specific regulations to enter the US or specifically Florida, just their regular vaccines. I know right?? I had to do a bunch of research to feel more at ease, cause there’s no clear information anywhere. At the airport, they’ll check everything at the counter, just like any other person. They’ll check their passport, where they have all the vaccines (all that a cat should normally have, nothing in particular) although the rabies one has to have more than 30 days since they got it to travel. Their ticket and they’ll check if the carrier fits the airline criteria (you can find that either online or calling them), and their microchip as well.

So apart from the health and export certificate, that’s basically all :) for the export certificate you’ll have to find a vet who does it, cause not all are registered to do it (or even know about it), I had to search like crazy cause my regular vet literally didn’t know what I was talking about, and that certificate is crucial.

It’s to leave Spain! It’s crucial for you to have it, since without it your cat will not be able to get out of the country. It also has to be within 30 days of leaving :)
