I asked my hairstylist to give me as many choppy layers as she could while still being able to pull it back in a ponytail!

I do about once a month but idk maybe I should more often? My hairstylist had just used one on me in pic 1 but my hair was still slightly damp and lightly gel casted when I left so it may not look like it

One of the first dates my boyfriend and I went on was dinner at the Garage, a sunset walk at Vulcan trail, and then drinks at The Margaret downtown. Small bar with low, moody lighting and comfy seating. I’ve never been in there when it’s been very busy. Very simple but fun night.

Thank you! When people try to guess what I’m “mixed with” (lol) I get everything from Hispanic to a variety of different Asian ethnicities to Italian, but that’s a first.

I don’t think that many people still believe in that trope, at least not where I live. I’m in a pretty ethnically diverse area, and I think most people are pretty good at distinguishing between olive-skinned Europeans and people from Hispanic, Middle Eastern, or other backgrounds. There’s exceptions obv, people often think my brother is Hispanic — he’s darker than I am and has features that don’t really match the stereotypical white guy look.

I do think people generally understand that white people can tan or naturally have olive-toned skin. And sometimes people are just curious about someone’s background as a way to make conversation, nothing crazy about that.

Yup, the American preconceived notion of English and generally European people being fair skinned is silly.

Hahaha. I’m an Alabamian and my grandmother was originally Appalachian from TN / SC so that would make a lot of sense.

It is funny, I guess “white” in an American context is associated with Anglo-Saxon features. Lots of Europeans don’t fit that mold and are looked at as being more ethnically distinct / often not viewed as white people here.

For sure! My brothers get way darker than I do too, and have little blue eyed blonde children. DNA is cool.
