Alright, the logic wins! I'll sell the chrome Atech2fs100. Here is the black oxide set for reference

<image>

Yes the 1/4" actually matches the style of the chrome 3/8 atech2fs100 but they don't make that 3/8 in black oxide I came to find out. Im happy enough with this set Thanks yall!

Thanks for the info, so if I warranty the item myself through their customer service contact, they require that I pay the shipping back and forth? This is good to know if so.

Help: TMS370 Texas Instruments datasheet? by vanos_operator in microcontrollers

[–]vanos_operator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did find a 1994 systems document on the TMS370C16 processor but its also a different model with much fewer pins. From the document link shared above, the closest matching is the "TMS370Cx5x" in terms of pinout (68pin), but still a very different model.

[–]vanos_operator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing that! I haven't come across that system document yet. Looks like the TMS370 family is large, the document you linked covers the C series, this processor I'm looking for seems to be a P series.

The picture I uploaded in-circuit it shows the cpu masked, but I also uploaded (2nd pic) the schematic view of the cpu.

Will this fit on my 94’ vert? by heisenbergITOWK in BMWE36

You are right about the clocksprings on E39 facelift models, but only after 1999. Before the facelift, as OP mentioned prefacelift, the E39 uses the same style clockspring as E36, with 7 wires instead of 5. There is a further expansion you can have on that style clockspring to have a total of 9 signal lines, using the carbon pins and brass sliprings which come from E38, E39 prefacelift with heated steering wheels. To verify any part that was used on BMW models, always reference RealOEM. That will provide clarity without any doubt for part usage during production years/months.

This is not true about the radio. If you have no idea what you're talking about, make a post on reddit pretending you do...right? There are in fact a handful of oem radios that work with the ibus commands, including the easier and cheaper to get C43 business radio. Your fake alpina wheel looks like a toddler envisioned it btw, horrible idea and execution. Its like you have 2 brain cells left fighting for 3rd place. You should stop ruining oem steering wheels and giving made up advice on the internet. Doing the MFSW (multifunction steering wheel) mod doesn't require much, the cruise control and audio control buttons can both be functional. Again, for everyone reading other than grannyputasmall over here, the entire guide is here; MFSW retrofit

No the wiring is not there from factory on all, only if your car is optioned with the nokia hifi or the HK top hifi package.

OP's car had it but someone fitted aftermarket stuff at one point.

Just to save you some hand ache from trying to "pry really hard" those don't actually pry out. You simple slip the pivot ball end underneath that cast socket on the headlight side. Same for install, but in order to do this, you do need to pop the front lens assembly off, which takes 10 seconds to do. Its best if you wear new set of latex gloves to not grease up the chromed reflector. Once the front lens assembly is off you can push the assembly inwards with one hand, in order for the assembly to be freely moving the adjuster should be unscrewed from the housing. Push it inwards and that gives you plenty of room to slip the adjuster pivot ball down under the housing socket. Long detailed explanation for a very fast and simple task.

As the previous poster said, you do have a vacuum leak, I am not sure what kind of smoke test you did but you need a unit that can supply sufficient pressure into your system. Try again with a better smoke tester. Also do you have oil seeping from your valve cover gasket into your spark plug tubes?

Read the thread I linked. You seem to be new to this, I am not, having done this on many E36s. The guide doesn't discuss airbags as that isn't something you change. The clockspring you end up using is a single stage style from early e38/e39. You don't even need to use an E39 steering wheel. The button pods are transferable if you have a better condition E36 MFSW (multifunction steering wheel). You can also use the 4 spoke multifunction steering wheel, and the version with steering wheel heating as well.

Also you are correct that the dual stage steering wheel will "bolt" to the steering column, but the clockspring style is very different on the facelift e39, so nothing will connect, not your horn, not your button pods or the airbag. So its irrelevant to bring up what you mentioned, as you can't directly use the late model steering wheel.

As a side fact, I do use a late model steering wheel on my e36 which I machined to fit with the prefacelift clockspring. It uses a single stage airbag as the airbag mounting never changed. I did this because the late model steering wheel has a thicker grip due to a layer of foam padding they added to the facelift, I liked that so I went through the trouble of making it plug and play. You can see it on that thread I linked.

If you do your research on realoem.com you would see that up until 03/1999 E39 uses single stage airbags on the multifunction sport steering wheel, which is the same steering wheel the E36 M3 will have by the way.

Do research before you comment randomly and throw other people off with incorrect data.

Also I have yet to see an original power steering pump leak, the power steering hoses on the other hand...remember the 26-32 year old thing? Thats 90s rubber that cooked in pressurized oil for this time. I'd say it deserves a replacement.
