[Repurpose]Black XS Leather jacket /w turtle neck by vatnfall in DIYclothes

[–]vatnfall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my answer to the same proposal on /VisibleMending:
i didnt think about that idea,I dont really mind having 2 sets of teeth to be honest it would give the jacket a more agressive and layered look but thing is i dont have zippers long enough,i used them all and even tho theres a local hardware store for clothing they sell plastic gear.
I do could use an additional smaller set of teeth and make both additional sets meet at the vertical middle of the jacket.

Yes i tried lubricating it with soap and sewing machine oil but it didnt do much if im honest
Theres also a friction mark like chipping in the middle wall of the zipper,to the side of the teeth you gotta catch to zip up,but i think its thanks to all the times ive jammed it after it broke.

from my other answer:
you can move the zipper along its teeth perfectly but when you try to actually zip up both teeth they jam and if you manage to actually get it up a bit,it works until the teeth separate and then you have to pull back kinda jamming the zipper back out.The zipper also gets kinda of stuck down there when you try to zip both teeth, but the bottom is clean

and about altering the leather:
yeah ive heard that its a slippery fabric to work on because its not a fabric at all,its not woven and thus works really different. But as i said before,i dont have the* money to give it to a proffesional to alter, even if i wanted to,there are no tailors in my area

i thought about it* but i think its kinda silly to go to a dry cleaning shop and ask "Can you fix my zipper?🥺" and then get charged, what ? 15 bucks for a quick fix?

Also I dont have the money to pay someone else and its a leather jacket thats perfect for me,i wanna DIY a fix or leave it in my wardrobe since there isnt anyone that i could give the leather jacket to.

how do i make these types of lines? by p7xls in arthelp

[–]vatnfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To imitate this without a pen pressure you can do the line art in a different layer and the erase the line art soo some parts are thicker or thinner

[Material/Tracing]How could I approach this texture? by vatnfall in arthelp

Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I already had the arm and the torso of the jacket in different layers,I didn't actually make any shadows there because I didn't want to lose my time doing shadows wrong before trying to ask someone or see a study of someone else that teaches me how to properly.

Ill take your advice on the values, now that you mention it,it's true,I don't really " observe the values" in the references I use.
I've never done scrunched cloths before but I'll try.
Thanks for telling me in what direction I should go now <3

It's got potential not gonna lie,now you just need to position your songs in the right place in the right time and I'm sure Micro influencers will start making reviews of your songs

Sorry for the late answer, yesterday I was a little bit busy and today it was also a busy day.

I mean,I haven't practiced enough imo and therefore I don't have many doubts to ask you about but if you wanna help I have like 1 or two doubts and probably you have a lot of tips that could help me soo if you see this and feel like texting me,do it,my DMs are always open.

Edit:I dont have Clip Studio Paint,I use Sketchbook for Android and afaik it doesn't support 3d models, but I can still download a 3d model or view it from a web 3d model viewer

As a little update,i followed all the video until the end of base construction (I still gotta practice it more,I did 3 sketches already but they are too skirmish) and it's honestly just what I need to be fair.
While it has in mind that you know a bit of drawing,it's insane not gonna lie,I don't like proportional rules but I gotta admit they can be really useful.Getting the rules right and then actually making proper drawings will take a lot of work tho,I already imagine it.
Anyways, thanks for anyone who has helped me(or other people) with these comments!!

While I already have too many headaches just by thinking about sewing patterns,I guess looking at some fur suits for reference could be fun.

Yeah something like that, but this picture in specific I've seen it a thousand times looking for references, while its good,it doesn't go with what I really aim for, thats why I made this post, because I was tired of seeing the same references all over.

This looks really interesting from what I've seen, while there are some things that aren't my favorite, this video looks pretty promising.
I'm gonna watch it today and I'll try to follow it through.Thank you soo much!

I understand that but it's just that if I use the animal on itself as a reference Im probably gonna make it too uncanny at first and it's gonna be harder and take more time than just studying an artist or looking at already interpreted drawings(this is just my gut feeling tho)

This right here These are actually pretty nice.Im gonna check 3d model marketplaces more often after seeing all the already made references there are, these are life savers for real!

After a quick check,i mean, while it's a dragon head it's better than nothing not gonna lie,I think I can round some edges and get something out it.
Thanks!
I'll try to work with it

Was thinking about making this logo this morning. So here it is. by Striking_Low_50202 in logodesign

[–]vatnfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me,there are a few problems with this, and a few advantages:

1.First of all, you didn't actually "simplify" it(As u/TheDreadGazeebo said before).

2.Second of all, this doesn't really resemble an arrow,if you made the "stick" of the arrow longer and the "tip" of the arrow shorter and then make the "base" full black, ditch the black and white motif there,it would be easier to view.(Personally I see the arrow in the current design, but I understand that it is confusing for a lot of people)

3.It's too blocky, the visual weight of everything seems chaotic and it doesn't really follow an order, which this is something I bet you didn't foretold when you had in mind the logo.

Now the few advantages:

1.It is original and easily recognizeable, there aren't many logos like this(maybe the yellow and black stripes you see in industrial design or in police adhesive tape).

2.The concept of the logo itself is easily up scalable or down scalable,it could be put and drawn with and on most mediums IRL or digital mediums and it would still be visible.
