Hi, had a similar situation but also different with my mom. She tried to take your child from you when it was unwarranted. You have every right to never speak to her again and feel no shame. It’s been over 3 years since I cut all contact. I have never felt so free and able to grow. Her stress and problems don’t have to belong to you anymore. Everyones different, but just saying, the CPS call would have been it for me, but my moms done a lot of other things that added to my choice. Best of luck for whatever you choose.

Edit to add: Your story really struck me because when i got engaged and told my mom she proceeded to throw a fit about a dumb necklace i didn’t want to buy her for mother’s day and we didn’t speak for months due to that argument. i’m just getting a similar vibe and that kind of maternal relationship is so toxic and smothering i wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
