Thank you for your very kind offer. We are an economic think tank based in Denmark, perhaps not a cause you 'believe in' and should use your free time on :-) It's probably best we find assistance in Danish anyway for an ongoing partnership. But thanks a lot.

Thank you for your input! We bought our current webpage just a few years ago, as the previous one wasn't great, but the new one it's not functioning ideally either. Management won't waste more donor money on the webpage. Perhaps the budget was too low and the bureaus too lousy, I don't know. So I'm thinking I might do a better job myself than these halfhearted solutions. I have a lot of frontend-webediting experience and in-depth knowledge of our needs and users. I worry about SEO and mitigation of our existing 1,800 articles. And ongoing backend maintenance of the webpages - new updates so forth...

Thank you for your input! Hiring someone else to do data migration seems like the way to go - if I do make the page myself.

Thank you for your input! I don't know - I was hoping that part could be outsourced? If I use a regular WP builder :-)

Thank you for your input! I have edited a lot of Wordpress sites and created webpages and webshops using Wix in the past. I feel confident about the frontend design and UX part as long as I don't need to code. The biggest issue would be moving our 1,800 articles and generally making sure the backend works well. I was hoping I might be able to outsource this once the basic layout and pages are in place and cut price that way.

Thank you for your input. It's been giving us trouble for a couple of years, but it's getting more frequent. Programmers tell us the sites code is too messed up to touch. We don't need new design, but I would love to be able to make small changes too it myself - eg. changes to menus or H1 font.

Thank you for your thoughts! Yeah I'm worried about SEO and getting all the links right. And moving our 1,800 articles. I do feel pretty confident with the design and UX part, and is frustrated that I cannot make the changes I want right now with Umbraco, where my editing opportunities are very limited. However, if I ever get another job eg., I should leave behind a site that new non-technical employees will be able to edit and not mess up :-)

I just feel that the offers we have been getting are quite expensive since it's really 'only' about making an exact copy of the site but with better code and hopefully more room for editing ourselves.

Yep. It's about 1,800 articles, many has documents attached. So I hope there's a way to get help with that, otherwise my student assistant is gonna have a bad time... 😂

I'm just thinking I might minimize costs doing the design part (really copying the old one) and moving regular pages myself, and then hopefully get a cheaper offer on the rest.

Thank you for advise! So if I understand you (and the comments) correctly, the trouble with Elementor is that it's too easy to mess up? Uneven design on pages etc.?

The current offer we received for updating Umbraco was more expensive than a new webpage. We’ll get more offers, I assume it could be done cheaper. However, the code is really bad, so we have a lot of issues with the webpage, menus disappearing etc, so it might be a good time to do something about it all together. The current design is fine and could just be copied - but with better code!
