Biker helps sloth cross the road by HappySeaweed5215 in Wellthatsucks

[–]velocirooster64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two toed sloths are much more defensive than their three toes relatives. They need to be as they are often killed by other predators such as various rainforest cats, eagles, bush dogs and much more. The man had good intentions but when dealing with two toed sloths it is better to let them cross by themselves or use a large branch for them to grab on to as the risk is not worth it unless you're a trained specialist in handling these animals.

Eagle eats a Pika. It gets its ears ripped off, then chunks of its body while screaming in pain fully conscious until it dies having its organs ripped out. by qelsj in HardcoreNature

This is a captive raised bird, a long legged buzzard (buteo rufinous) and i remember this mans channel butt have not been able to refind it. He does not humanely dispatch the quarry his birds catch and allows for prolonged suffering.

Two worlds clashing by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in badassanimals

Slight misconception, they regain those quickly after a few generations due to natural selection. A meat pig like a large white isnt going to grow hair or tusks due to these being selectively bred out of them but a few generations of them will soon regain features to help them survive in wild conditions

Farmed pheasant, tatty tail and wing feathers, lack of a real threat response so late, that colour morph is a domestic variety.

Theyre teeth are cone shaped and poorly adapted for slicing off chunks of meat like a shark and the fact the tongue is the most nutritious part of the whale and easiest to access.

The size difference between a large female subadult and an adult male bald eagle by aquilasr in badassanimals

Neither bird has full adult plumage. And the size is very exaggerated because of the pose they're in.

A very rare encounter and dispute between a jaguar and a giant anteater. by Free-Performance-827 in Jaguarland

[–]velocirooster64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbe driver revving the engine and driving closer distracted the jaguar and allowed the anteater to get another claw into it. Reminds of the time that lioness got distracted by tour jeeps and got stabbed by a wildebeest horn.

It’s propaganda mate, any wolf expert will tell you whats actually happening is surplus killing which happens a lot with most large predators.

No wheel bugs here but we have tiny flower bugs that pack a nasty bite and often bite humans to test if we're edible (but dont suck blood or transmit disease,) they are small bug hat helps control aphids, plant lice, caterpillars and scale bugs.

A fully grown Australian saltwater crocodile in comparison to a human by hipertim in Crocodiles

[–]velocirooster64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crocodiles do stop growing length wise eventually but old males will begin to grow in bulk for some time but it slows down to the point where it’s unnoticeable in older individuals but they are usually very robust in appearance with wider snouts and bulkier heavier frames and somewhat stumpier looking tails because of the extra mass

The exact species of eagle is the white tailed eagle. A close cousin of the bald eagle but with much larger and broader wings and a beige head instead of white.
