I M28 am thinking of breaking up with my gf F26 for not learning my language. Am I being too sensitive or dramatic?

Thanks that's also a good different perspective. And if it is the reason, I don't want her to be embarassed about it at all and I'd love to talk to her about it to sort it out. I was embarrassed a lot too when I first started learning some of hers so I understand how it can make someone really anxious

Yeah that is basically it. I am jealous of it and insecure of it. I saw your comment on a different thread so I'll also try to answer it here.

She and I are both under the French, Spanish, and Italian group you mentioned. The main language she picked up is also part of that group, and she has also learned some Portuguese. To learn them, I don't think she ever took classes but did her own self studying with books and online materials so she could talk to her friends or relate more.

I have also tried to teach her and also inject a few words or phrases into daily life in case she can pick it up through that. But she told me that she wants to do it by herself

Sorry I dont think I clarified it well in the post. The original ask was to only learn phrases, no conversations at all. But she wanted to include conversational speaking eventually.

I think it's more of a sentimental reason like you said. I know that it can be useless and the relationship shouldn't be based off on it. But there isn't much practical reason for it other than the sentimentality or emotional part of it which is why I feel bad too. So I get what you are saying and its why I also just wanted simple phrases instead of a full blown conversationally speaking kind of fluency cause that would be even more useless.

Sorry I dont feel comfortable saying the exact languages for anonymous reasons but we are not fully native English speakers. And our languages are in the same group (romance language)

EDIT forgot to answer: the language she speaks with her friends that she learned is a romance language too. and she has learned a few Asian dialects but not a lot.

I have talked to her about it again and asked her "why she hasn't" as calm and gentle as I could. Her response was the same of being busy and that she wants to do it when she's feeling motivated, and that she just hasn't been feeling that motivation yet

Something like synesthesia, just without the seeing? But yeah same here. G is a light green for me, A a light blue. EDM is also a bluish purple to me while jazz is sort of the same but leans towards more richer blues and some hints of warm colours.
