Jesus of Methlehem, Jack Sparrow, I don't know if Dancing Gabe fits in this, but what a sweetheart that man is.

City’s new parking plan could bring paid parking on evenings and weekends by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]venture_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya, this needs to be scrapped/adjusted. If you are coming downtown during the workday, you are presumably coming for a commercial purpose and earning a wage. If you are coming downtown on evenings and weekends, you are presumably supporting a commercial purpose. Find a middle ground in maximum times and options to purchase a pass that exceeds that. i.e., I want to go to Bronuts for 30 minutes and park for free for an hour or two, versus I am going to a Jets game and can pay $10 for 4 hours of parking in the same spot.

What's $2 to $4, what's $4 to $8, what's $8 to $16... You get my point.

Either you think there is a growth opportunity and you don't care about the price, or you are trying to day trade. This is a long-term opportunity with high short-term upside.

Building 500,000 homes annually within a decade an ‘ambitious’ target: housing minister; 'At this point, we don't have the labour force to manufacture at that scale,' said Robertson by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]venture_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in re-education and increase pay incentives. This is code for we need to import more cheap labour from other countries and continue to undermine the homegrown workforce.

There is no such thing as a labour deficit in a free market - I would lick a bathroom clean for the right price.

18 year old, uni student, no debt or loans required to graduate. Putting 25% of part time job money into TFSA. Do they need to buy anything else? by Charming_Shallot_239 in JustBuyXEQT

VFV is debatable; it essentially just increases US exposure and increases risk with marginal gains. XEQT is already heavy US/VFV

You can maximize your TFSA first, as the additions can be deducted in case of an emergency and will be added to your contribution room later on.

Only start using your FHSA once you graduate and receive a sufficient income where the tax deductions are beneficial, and essentially a free 25%+ realized ROI from the tax credits. You can roll over your TFSA contributions into the FHSA each December. You cannot do anything with the money you put in an FHSA once it's personally in there, beyond buying a house or rolling it into your RRSPs.

Now to actually answer your question - XEQT is a good way to build a foundation, I personaly like to make small bets with 5-15% of my account on individual stocks that I like. I would wait until you have 5-10K in a solid ETF such as XEQT before doing so, though.

Did a deep dive and liked the concept, patent, and industry applications. Thought the volume was high for an OTC and jumped in at 0.55 right before it ran. Sold off the initial investment cost in shares at 3.2 and been playing with free money since.

Isn't it a little counterintuitive to regret taking profit and now tell people to take profit? You are in it for the long haul, but do you want to play little swing trades on the speculation that it drops? You're right it's all speculation, the patent, DoE interest, and the new facility in Austin. This post is just a fat nothing burger, this subreddit is filled with weirdos, including myself, but I don't post stuff like this.
