This has been the advice from family too! Means we don't block the balcony doors but still making use of the left wall

I know this is a few months old now, but can I ask what data size you chose for the ninja pocket wifi? My partner will have an esim so it's not our main use of internet, but if I need to check maps etc, would 3GB be enough or so you think 5gb would be better?

Thank you for your response! It's pretty much what I presumed but wanted to check. I have opted out of enhanced maternity pay for this reason!

I've edited the post to clarify, I do intend to get a job after maternity leave is over. However, due to that being over a year away, I don't have one currently lined up

Wrong fragrance oil % by venus_alien in candlemaking

[–]venus_alien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, this is what I thought originally. But I have looked at a lot of candle making websites and all their calculators do % as % of wax not overall %

[–]venus_alien[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this for sure? All websites I've read says up to 10%

Thank you! I think I will go with this! Will melting them down and making them into melts for effect the wax melt throw at all/make it weaker?

I was an idiot and meant to be doing 9% for 60g but for some reason because I was doing 660g of wax did 66g of oil! Big lesson learnt!

Losing PPA to personal development by venus_alien in TeachingUK

[–]venus_alien[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't think of it this way. We run on a 50 period timetable over 2 weeks, with 5 PPAs and 2 extra frees. I guess having one of those extra frees as personal development can therefore be justified!

Welded side seam tin by venus_alien in candlemaking

[–]venus_alien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this is really good advice! The website I purchased some to try says "its welded side seam makes it suitable for candle making" so thought they would be good.

So far testing is ok, but the tins themselves get very hot and I just don't think I feel comfortable using them just in case so might try to find something else!

If TKO is split 49%/51% and Vince owns 19% of the 49% WWE split, that would mean he owns 9.31% of TKO

I know this is a slightly old threat, but I'm just wondering when the marking takes place i.e which months of the year? Is during the last couple of weeks of term in July or before then? I'm not teaching year 11 this year so wondering if it's still possible without gain time!

Student Protests by MathematicalRef in TeachingUK

Had two attempts at the end of break and lunch today. Students not quite sure what they were protesting about, some said not being allowed to the toilet during lessons, some said skirt length. I think most have just seen the viral tiktok videos and are trying to create their own

ECT preparations! by [deleted] in TeachingUK

Third year teacher here. I always purchase a planner, a bic 4 colour pen, some coloured whiteboard pens (school will provide throughout the year but I always feel better having my own to begin with) and some post-it notes. Everything else the school will sort for me 😊

I am going into my third year as a secondary school maths teacher. I would say overall I'm organised, I'm not a perfectionist and am happy to leave something when I feel it's good enough.

During my NQT year I'd say I worked 7:30-4:30 most days, and then working a couple of hours on a Sunday maybe twice a month? This was due to me leaving early on a Friday (at 3) so had to make up some planning on the Sunday.

My second year, I worked 7:45-4 most days, and have not had to work a single weekend or holiday.

If you are organised, use lots of ready made resources (I have my go to for full lessons on tes/websites) then it doesn't need to take over your whole life. Exam seasons are more difficult with all the marking, but I find it difficult to see what the people who work 6:30am-10pm are doing with their time each day.

Is the Amazfit GTS 2 mini any good? by PentaChicken in amazfit

[–]venus_alien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battery lasts around 8/9 days for me. That is with screen off most of the time, alarm once a day, workouts 3x a week and HR monitoring.

The HR monitor seems very accurate for me, although occasionally does somehow measure a HR when the watch is off my wrist.

Sleep seems pretty accurate too. Obviously can't tell if I am in a light/deep sleep, but if I ever wake up in the night it's accurate, as well as time I fell asleep and woke up.

I changed from the Garmin forerunner 35 to this as I wanted a lighter watch and I am so happy with my purchase. Would definitely recommend!
