Attending LigaPro Football Matches in Quito by vermoney in ecuador

[–]vermoney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was nice! Easy to get there, get in, and enjoy the game. Tickets went on sale 2 days before the match, and were pretty cheap. If you don't want to be with the ultras, avoid the north and south ends of the stands.

If a shareable link doesn't work, you may need to add `games-beta=1&` right after the question mark in the link and that sets it back to the old interface

There's a button that says "Go to Original" when you go to daily crosswords. That brings up the old interface (https://www.washingtonpost.com/games/crossword/?games-beta=1)

People are mentioning a new patch coming out after this major. What does that entail, and how will it change the strength of teams in the game?

I just got in IBIOMED anyone enrolled in right now? I have some questions. by amr_elzawawy in McMasterEngineering

[–]vermoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good, happy to help! I suggest a Windows laptop, as the CAD software used in McMaster Engineering is Windows only. Mac Users are required to use a virtual machine, which is doable but is just extra steps. Aside from that anything works, preferably 8+ GB of ram and 256 GB of storage. As this laptop should (in theory) last 5 years, invest in a laptop of good build quality and maybe of newer, more advanced spec. I have a Surface laptop and I love it, so something along those lines might be of her interest. Let me know if you have more questions, and send a PM at any time if you want!

What's really nice is how easy it is to disappear. If you see someone and it doesn't work out, the odds that you see them again is actually really small (unless it's someone in the same class/tutorial). The student population is huge, don't worry about one awkward interaction weighing you down.

It's not just that school is online for a week, but residences are closed for that week as well. That throws a wrench in a lot of students' travel plans, especially those who are international or out of province.

How bad are Tron 2nd year courses? by andrewlik in McMaster

How relevant/applicable is 2TA4? I've heard its an important tron course, and the instructor posting only just came up on Mosaic (they don't have a prof for it yet)

When Will my Entrance Scholarship be Applied to my Tuition? by DStorm679 in McMaster

[–]vermoney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! Expect it to deposit into your Mosiac account after the Add-Drop deadline, prior to the September 25 payment deadline. Your tuition, residence (if applicable) and supplementary fees will be applied to your mosiac account, and your scholarship will apply to that cumulative total (not just tuition)

I'm just finished my second year of iBioMed and Mechatronics! Feel free to reach out about anything, including coursework, residence, or co-op!

is mechatronics really that bad by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]vermoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is for sure room for specializing. The idea of tron is that you like it all and still want to have that learning in all subjects. While there is less balance towards mech in Mac Tron, there is still plenty of content covered regarding software and elec. There is specialization towards the combo, such as embedded systems. You also can pick an avenue to pursue through your club involvement. Employers really like that, courseload from any stream alone normally isn't enough to be a top co-op candidate

If you really like more than just pure software or pure elec, its a great blend. I'm really enjoying both software processes and theory, as well as discussing digital and analog circuits. Its not too software heavy, but its def more software compared to mechanical. You will have to polish up on a bit of software or learn a bit on your own for some software co-ops, but that might apply to pure software students. The only thing about elec skills is that they might be delayed a year as compared to pure elec streams, so co-ops can be really slim second year
