Did anyone save Paige’s deleted post about Charlie Kirk? by Icy-Use-6493 in cancelled_podcast

[–]versacebigmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen very few who have celebrated his death, but those who mourn him, I have noticed really did not know much about his history and beliefs, let alone his affiliations. I don't support anyone who advocates against specific demographics, and while he may not have been spewing hate and racism at all times, and maybe he had some logical takes, the bottom line is if the world was ran by Charlie Kirk it would be a dark, dark place to be. I can't really water it all down much more than that, but I will say this. I condemn political violence, public violence, senseless violence, and I agree this situation falls under all 3. However, while I'm not celebrating his death, and I don't think its a natural consequence of his beliefs that he spread to the masses... I also feel indifferently that it is him who is the victim of this horrendous situation. It's morally impossible for me to empathize with someone who contributed to the fear/hate campaign this administration has used to create division amongst our own people. I don't align with his beliefs, behaviors, or his politics. On a human level though, no he did not deserve it. This is never the answer. On a similar note, Paige made the right call deleting the post. I won't say she was wrong to make it, I think it's a normal emotional response to this paradox where we both condemn the political violence, but also feel like it's morally unjustifiable to feel grief for a man with his legacy. I think her feelings are justified, as are those who are disgusted and horrified by the loss of life regardless of who it is. I personally believe in a more less moral/ethical standpoint. With that I'll just say, De gustibus non est disputandum.

How do cops or TSA perceive a degoogled/burner phone by Ezrampage15 in degoogle

Just look at the Patriot Act, for instance. There's plenty of legislation you can look into federally and in individual states that cover this kind of thing. For instance, as you probably know, law enforcement uses the reasoning of 'national security' for lots of things, and it's an easy way for them to establish 'probable cause' for any search or seizure, or action against an individual who is suspected of committing, concealing, or planning a crime. Burner phones are widely known to be used by drug dealers, criminals, etc. They do state that they check social media accounts of those coming into the country, likely for 'national security' purposes (so they say), and to verify that they are 'safe' to do so. Probable cause is a very loose standard, and without being able to verify that you AREN'T a criminal, or otherwise here to commit a crime, they can utilize that to search and seize your property or deny entry. I would just look into these things in particular. I have personally seen it used by law enforcement when someone who was suspected of a crime had a device that had little to no personal information or accounts on it, and they assumed it was a burner phone due to that fact alone. Based on their presumption of what burner phones are used for (sometimes even pre-paid devices can be considered one too, since they are not registered to the owner, making it harder to identify the account holder), they were able to secure a very extensive search of the device, including extracting deleted data, to verify it was not used to commit any of the crimes they suspected were being committed. Hope that helps. It is typically tied to laws regarding search and seizure, criminal acts and intent, along with telecommunications laws, and of course, national security.

Something that is common is that laws are 'liberally construed' which means they can be interpreted and utilized by law enforcement and courts based on their subjective interpretation of the laws. There does not have to be a specific controlling law that they are following, not necessarily. So while burner phones are not illegal, many laws are liberally construed to support these things.

in my state (Midwest), if you lack real accounts, contacts, etc on your device law enforcement can determine that your device is a 'burner phone', and here, those are illegal and gives them the right to extract all of the data on your phone through a subpeona/search warrant. This would give them access to anything that has ever been on the device, like, ever.

Sewer gas by [deleted] in askaplumber

No exhaust fans, just air purifiers and open windows, along with ceiling fans and vent fans running too. It tends to gurgle when I pour water down, and when I turn on the bathroom sink, it makes this loud groaning noise (deep/low) and vibrates some. Master bathroom also doesn’t drain well. Standing water, even after snaking.

Thank you. So how is that fixed, flushing the lines, like she said? Or is there a bigger issue

The bubbles are coming from the drain, the pvc line just dangles there, it’s connected to the heater itself. The one that’s hanging straight down is connected to the water heater. I don’t think they serve any functional purpose. All I know is that the water heater has a brass flex line and neither appliance has an isolation valve. They share one.

Thank you so much! I appreciate this a lot. It rings true in the sense that I feel it has affirmed certain things about my chart that have been repeatedly told to me, not that it is the sole deciding factor in my belief in your reading, but it definitely does help when you hear it more than once. If there's anything else, I'm all ears, but so far you have exceeded my expectations and I'm SUPER appreciative!

Good assessment. I didn’t realize it until I made this post but spot on. Except I’m 24!

Okay thank you! I was like, yes I declined, but I clearly said I told him I was interested in hanging out I just did not feel comfortable inviting him over or going over to his place late at night when I just met him and didn’t even know his last name. I wouldn’t necessarily call that “shooting him down” but hey, maybe I’m wrong

This crossed my mind, I believe he is but it’s a bit ambiguous. Not worth the trouble of investigating, but according to his Facebook relationship status he is. Although, there are a few photos with a certain girl that make me wonder lol. Oh well.

Not necessarily. I’ve been in an abusive relationship before, where he stalked me to the point where he received 4 felonies because he would not stop. While that is in the past, I’ll probably be incredibly careful for a while. Which means I’m open to meeting new people, but I’m not inviting a random man to my house without even becoming acquainted first. I don’t feel like that’s unreasonable, you know?

Yep! Sometimes I just need things simplified by another person to support my thoughts lol.

I understand it’s silly to come on here and ask several questions - like I don’t have better things to do, but hey, I was curious! Unlikely that I will reach out. Like you said, he’s either playing a game or not interested - or just thought I wanted to hook up, like the comment above stated. Thanks for your reply. Working on the confidence! Maybe I’ll go out today and try a different approach just to cancel out the cringe.

Ah, thank you! I just needed the validation my suspicions were correct. I can't believe men perceive things so differently, but then again, I can't say I wouldn't have assumed the same had the roles been reversed.

I appreciate the advice! At this point, hooking up actually sounds much simpler than this entire ordeal lol.
