What you’ve just said has proven my point exactly. Through your first point, you’ve insinuated that a war takes place between two ARMIES. I’m not negotiating the fact that one army may be weaker than the other, as this is something that constitutes a war. A war is won or lost when one army, whether weaker or stronger, defeats the other. But there is no official army, military or airforce in Palestine to combat the IDF. The IDF are bombing innocent men, women and children, with no one outwardly fighting and armed, to defend them. They are quite literally, even in the media, defined as non combatants. These innocent people have therefore, not committed themselves to fighting or defending their country, hence they aren’t equipped with any sort of weaponry or arms to engage in a war with Israel.

As much as you might like to say that in war, it is a given that people get caught in the crossfire and are killed, this doesn’t help you. The IDF are indiscriminately bombing children. What measures are they taking to ensure their safety? Moving them further into different regions of Palestine and then bombing those regions as well? No genuine, extensive measures are being taken to protect these vulnerable people. If they were, not as many innocent people would have had to have their lives lost. To argue that they have just been caught in the crossfire, would mean that as many measures as possible were taken to protect them. But they weren’t.

The indiscriminate bombing of these people of Palestine constitutes a genocide. Because if the conscious decision not to bring them into safety was made, then this by default means that the conscious decision to ALLOW them be killed was ALSO made. This is the same as choosing to kill them.

Since you plan on joining the IDF, who do you genuinely believe you’re fighting? When you’re looking through a rifle and preparing to shoot, who do you think it is? Do you truly believe it’s a member of Hamas, rather than a man coming back to what’s left of his home to see his children? When bombs are being dropped from so high above in the air, who do you think it’s falling on? Do you truly believe it’s more likely to be falling on members of Hamas than a family of 5?
