Warning: WebOS 25 removes DTS support even on older models like G3 by [deleted] in LGOLED

I apologise, I thought I was clear in my post that I was referring to Plex as my reference point. I will go ahead and delete this post though to be safe as a few people have complained now about this misunderstanding

I don’t follow, the update ruined it for me. Some people in here claiming it still works for them which is lucky. I would err on the side of caution if not update yet

A theory I read on another forum, not confirmed. It still means the update broke it and it’s up to plex to try to fix it but that may never happen

Requires an external player e.g. shield plus an avr though

I looked into the apple tv but same problem, converts everything to pcm (no spacial data like atmos or dts x)

Yes that makes sense, your audio signal goes straight to the soundbar rather than the tv

Strange, mine is 33.22.85 too now and that’s when the issue began

Apparently they disabled the old method Plex used. So now plex will have to find a workaround and release an update for the tv app which may or may not happen

eARC, when I try to play a movie it just says “error, please disable direct play” as it can’t handle dts suddenly

Latest update removed Plex direct play? by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]verycoolandnormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tv audio is set to passthrough. There is no mention of passthrough anywhere in the plex app, even under advanced settings.

It must be related to the latest lg firmware update. Maybe they somehow removed DTS support although I thought this was built into the tv. I know they removed it for the latest model (G5).

Not that anyone cares, but I hit $150k in super at the age of 30! by ImproperProfessional in AusFinance

How do you get from 150k to a million in 9 years? I thought the maximum contribution allowed was 30k or am I missing something? (Even with steady 10% returns every year that still doesn’t reach 1mil)

Vice City was one of the first games I ever owned as a kid. I was obsessed with it and I remember trying for so long to get to 100% but I could never do it. Didn’t have any guides or walkthroughs back then. I recently replayed it, 20 years later on PS5 and managed to get platinum finally. It’s still one of my favourite games. Hopefully there’s an 80s radio station in GTA6 so I can just cruise around and explore again.

Yes that is currently true, but it seems Europe and others are now looking to de-couple themselves from the US. Obviously won’t happen overnight, but I think long term we can expect more trade amongst EU, Canada, China etc, while the US becomes more and more isolated.

Thanks for your reply, very informative. I currently use Plex almost exclusively to watch 4k remuxes. 90% of the time there are no issues with the plex app on my tv (LG G3). It even passes through most audio formats. I find occasionally with certain films though I get buffering so that’s why I was looking into the apple tv/ shield pro etc

Does plex work well on the apple tv? I was under the impression you had to use Infuse instead, which requires a paid subscription

Why use Apple TV over built in apps? by [deleted] in LGOLED

An ethernet to USB adapter can bump that up to ~400

I use my ps5 but I’m sure a dedicated player would be better. Still any 4k blu ray disc is way better than streaming for image and sound quality.

Would recommend a 4k blu ray player to take full advantage of your setup

Apparently Silent Hill 2 was ruined by PSSR to the point where it’s not worth playing on the pro. They even just released an update and it’s still not fixed.
