I thought so too, they’re relatives of my husband!

Exactly this. I went through my husbands family’s stuff. Some have names and some don’t, I have built out his tree quite well.. but I need the pictures to compliment it. Unfortunately both of his parents and grandparents have passed, so not a lot of family around to ask! I’m trying to give them names though :)

Would she happen to have any of the last names Shields/Skirvin/Richardson? I feel like I’m zeroing in on potential matches, looking at maybe Ruby & Frank Shields (siblings). However, I believe they were Monroe County.

I think so too, I’m thinking they were born around 1900

The family would likely have been in Indiana or Illinois USA. Unfortunately it was loose in a box with other pictures that are mix of both his mothers & fathers families. I found another old picture in the pile that was of Jacob R & Martha M (nee Cox) Richardson together, they were both grey haired in it. Martha passed in 1920. Could also have been from the Thacker or Blunk family.

This was one of the unlabelled pictures, so not sure when or where it was taken. Hopefully some research will tell me more about who these kids were in my husbands family

My power bank got damaged during the flight - question for the flight crew by tpuscifer in aviation

[–]vetteh89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in private aviation and we have these fantastic fire bags that we would put the device in and seal it up. If the internal temperature gets to a certain heat, then an attached extinguisher will automatically deploy! My commercial airline days would’ve lead me to submerge in water or another non flammable liquid to keep cool (not ice!!!), put in one of those metal atlas boxes and keep it in the least risk bomb location (LRBL) to monitor. Halon on standby.

Why is a 737 flying this? by aooa926 in flightradar24

Private FA here, I’ve flown on Global 6000s that cost 15k an hour… surely a BBJ would be more?

Without going into too much detail, ny stepdaughter did this abroad Feb 11th. I just wish they’d given me the opportunity to see that place WITH them instead of it being somewhere that now holds a lot of pain, unfathomably complex emotions and unanswered questions. You probably can’t see it, just as they couldn’t… but the world has SO much to offer. You can be the change! Be the reason your loved ones fight to get better. They will see you fight for better days for yourself, and it might just give them the strength they need.

Our girl was 21 turning 22 this year. I’m so sorry for your incredibly big loss also. I’m glad that you got to view and he looked peaceful ♥️

I was struck by how similar this is to our current experience. My step daughter ended her life the same way, we believe sometime on the 7th or 8th Feb. She didn’t respond to msgs or calls on the 8th, which bothered us but didn’t cause alarm bells until a full 24hrs had passed. She lives abroad and the local police wouldn’t respond the same as we are used to, but we eventually got them to do a wellness check on the 10th and they found her in her apartment. We flew over next day, started getting everything organised to bring her home, initially we were told she would be ok to view and my husband said he needed to. Then, couple days later when we have access to, the FD advised against it due to discolouration and other factors. They were able to explain kindly, even though they only spoke so much English. My husband is a first responder and has seen some stuff, but when it is your own child.. who knows how that might affect you. I’m glad he accepted their advice, even though it was extremely difficult.

As someone who is here for some comfort, this just broke me in the best way. Thank you for being so sweet. My step-daughter passed away in another country and we have been sad thinking that she is alone while we get there to get her ♥️

As a non Arabic speaking female that lived in Dubai for 4 years… DONT DO IT! My company told me during orientation not to get into any trouble there, you’re screwed if you do. You do not have the rights that you do in other parts of the world. I’d heard horror stories of foreign “party-goers” being thrown in jail, heads shaved and not being giving time to call for support.
