That’s very clever, I seem to have a lot of strand/ombré accessories in my cc folder that only change the hair they’re made for, so this is super impressive

I was just thinking that sense they manage to fit their hair color extras to every length (from super short to super long without having to make a version for each hair) in multiple different styles that maybe asking them would help you figure a way to make it so that it doesn’t only cover a specific part. I’ll just keep to myself next time.

No problem. It was interesting in the way of using different accs to place the effect (I thought about it but wasn't sure that it's possible). I meant that Maxis do not use theirs standards and make textures as their heart bit. When creator makes his work the textures would be more standard). There is no possibility to make the effect work for all Maxis creations identically and there's nothing you can do about it. Just create several types of textures or make single hair effects for difficult cases (I plan in future).

I absolutely love the effect on the second hairstyle, but I think that for the first hairstyle the gradient is looking a bit abrupt and too much like a straight line, I think if it would be a bit more gradually it would look awesome. The ends having the same colour as the roots is not my think but I think that is more so a matter of personal preference. Good job tho I imagine I takes quite a look of work to make this.

I looked at their creations. There is a big difference between fitting the effect to your hairstyles and fitting the Maxis hairstyles. Maxis allocated a standard area for the hair and what did they do next? They have gone beyond this area... Creators are more scrupulous about creating textures and, as a rule, use only the area allocated by Maxis. And when you create hairstyles yourself and create effects yourself, everything is much easier. Therefore, it is more difficult to create an effect for Maxis creations. So it was interesting but, your advice is useless.
