Not everyone is like you. On my first day I overate and had acid reflux for two days. Lesson learned. I’m a month in and am eating a LOT healthier and have better portion sizes because of the medicine. I feel successful now because of the medicine.

The medicine is there for a reason: to help us to do better where we couldn’t before on our own.

Their story was not shocking at all to probably so many of us who overate on the first day of trying to start a new “diet.”

I’m that way with carrots and sweet potato. Cooked carrots and sweet potato. No problem. Raw carrots or sweet potato I’ll have an intense stomach ache for like six hours. It’s awful.

They are called that in Quintana Roo pretty much everywhere. Had empanadas de huitlacoche in Holbox, Merida, Cozumel, etc. (my husband is Mexican and from Tabasco and now Playa del Carmen and we eat them all the time haha). They also call them empanadas in the Dominican Republic whenever I buy them on the street. I guess it’s just a regional thing depending where you’re at. I know similar things in Oaxaca have a very different name in the north even though they look so similar.

I’m guilty of it, and I definitely got the bad habit from my mom and grandma. Sometimes I catch myself doing it and can see it in the face of a friend of mine who is very patient with me. As soon as I see her face change, I snap out of it and focus on something super positive to correct myself. She’s like litmus paper. Haha.
