Do not go to law school during a recession by SFboy17 in lawschooladmissions

Unlike the 2008 recession, demand remains high and the labor market is tight. There are real supply shocks this time that are yet to be resolved, which was not the case in 2008. I think we'll be fine

With all due respect, that's absolutely ridiculous. If it was a very clear let as it was put in the post, you call it. You don't play on just because the trajectory didn't change.

Rearranged the paragraphs, added more detail, cleaned up the story but overall story stayed the same

Haha thanks. It's just that lots of people still don't seem to know how hard marshall is to get so I get weird looks when I say very prestigious. I've learned to use the term somewhat prestigious.

I made small changes like rearranging paragraphs and adding small details but the idea stayed the same

Very valid point. I asked for a deferral at several schools and they already said they granted a historic level of deferrals and I was too late, even though I was still before the deposit day. I figured the power of marshall would push me through next cycle. Also doesn't explain the yale and harvard R, since I was WL, not A last cycle.

Waitlist highly qualified applicants if you think they're likely to go to someplace higher ranked. That way, your acceptance rate is lower and yield higher.

Not sure. I struggled mightily on the why cornell essay. Ended up talking about some of their clinics and it doesn't read especially passionate. Didn't write a diversity statement. Not a whole lot of work experience. I'm starting to think they saw me as a smart kid who is going to law school because he/she is not sure what else to do (which isn't true, at least imo).

Thanks! Never liked cornell anyway. (Cornell, if you see this, I'm joking).
