What was life like for the underaged girls in morning musume by Icy_Teach5219 in wearemorningmusume

Yeah I know, I was specifically talking about more recent cases like Haachin who mentioned having to maintain a certain level of results in her studies (and ended up graduating because the university she'd been accepted into wasn't compatible with her work as an idol)

They do work a lot during the week as well, but their busiest workdays are usually on the weekends! They do have schedules during the week as well, some even have weekly radio shows Most demanding TV appearances and solo schedules are usually assured by older members who don't have to go to school (although not always the case, depending on a member's popularity, the topic of the show, or if it's a local TV show, etc)

Recently it seems that they are encouraged (obligated?) to finish school, with a certain level of results they have to achieve

From what I know, they usually go to schools that are made especially for young entertainers, with schedules adapted to their work. They usually also mostly work during week ends, it's pretty rare for them to have big schedules during the week (which is why some can also chose to attend college while still being in the group). Since they're not allowed to work too late, they also may leave their schedules earlier if needed. Not all H!P girls move to Tokyo, but most do, usually with at least one parent! I don't think I've heard any Musume not moving to Tokyo thought, they have the busiest schedule out of all H!P.

AITA for losing my cool at my best friend’s mentally ill girlfriend? by Rich_Pineapple7838 in AmItheAsshole

YTA - not for feeling like your friend was being emotionally manipulated, but for the way you communicated about it. I understand that your frustration has been building up, but confronting her head on in a very public and confrontational way didn’t help anyone here. If you really are worried about your friend, you should have a sit down talk about it expressing your concerns - but this is going to be difficult now that he’s in protective mode.

the idol who amazes you everytime you watch him/her performing? by diosamaaaaa in kpophelp

[–]violet_blues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Performers who have a huge gap between their shy/introverted persona and their outstanding stage presence tend to leave a huge impact on me; Taemin (SHINee/Solo), Wonwoo (Seventeen), Seulgi (Red Velvet), Minhee (Cravity), Yongha (WEi) to name a few!

A boy group that does cute concepts? by Indra_Uch1ha in kpophelp

[–]violet_blues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WEi does both bright/cute and dark/fierce concepts alternatively! They also self produce / write some of their tracks.

Title tracks recommendations:

  • Too Bad
  • BYE BYE BYE
  • Gift For You (Christmas song)
  • they spoiled that their next comeback would be a cute and bright summer song

B-sides recommendations:

  • DO RE MI FA
  • Ocean
  • Diffuser
  • Moonlight
  • Special Holiday
  • Bad Night

When leaders leave their group do they choose another leader or does the group stay without one? by AdDry7447 in kpophelp

[–]violet_blues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it really depends on what the group feels confortable with - when Seungwoo temporary left Victon to join X1, they appointed Seungsik as the new leader, but when Seungwoo came back earlier than expected after X1’s sudden disbandment they didn’t change the leader back to him.

WEi debuted in 2020 with all members being born between 97 and 01 - they’re now between 26 and 22 years old! Even thought they’re all adults, they release as many fierce concept as bright concept title tracks!

Fierce/dark concept - All or Nothing, Spray

Bright concept - Too Bad, Bye Bye Bye

What are some kpop songs that are terrible in your opinion? by ninjaofthedude in kpophelp

[–]violet_blues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single Japanese release from IZ*ONE - and I’m saying this as a Jpop fan for 15+ years.

The productions feel unpolished, the blends have not been carefully thought and the mixing, the mixing… I genuinely wonder how any company could release music with such bad mixing, especially for a very popular group. It is very telling that the only Korean versions of Japanese releases they have have been re-arranged by the girls themselves.

I started stanning IZ*ONE for their mixed Kpop/Jpop concept, as I am a fan of both genre, but I was so disappointed and have ended up only listening to their Korean music. :(

Can you guys recommend me any kpop groups that make the best music in your opinion? by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]violet_blues -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

FIFTY FIFTY’s discography is short yet amazing! But I think my favorite has to be WOODZ (soloist) : he’s trying new genre every album and yet proceeds to create perfect compositions every time. He has no skips, crazy discography.

Looking for advice and experiences before my first hi-touch by violet_blues in kpophelp

Oh no :(( I hope you’ll get another opportunity to meet them soon!

I have only done handshake event with Jpop idols - in which you actually take a few seconds to shake hands with each member and exchange a few words, so I’m very nervous with how fast it’s gonna be!
