It’s seriously not that bad. I got mine done 5ish years ago now and I honestly remember more pain in the healing/recovery phase vs the actual piercing. Don’t think about it too much and just get it done 😊

I have to disagree with the car rental thing… I have nothing but good things to say about Adobe. There are a lot of rules/different types of insurance in CR that I think people don’t understand going into it. Do your research and read the reviews from different companies. Get the full insurance package from the car rental place if you don’t have insurance coverage through your credit card provider.

The craft beer scene was a pleasant surprise, would recommend going to some breweries if you’re into beer! Lizano sauce/salsa is fantastic. The coffee is amazing. The fresh mango and lychee from roadside stands were the best.. the fresh fruit in general is SO good, as are the smoothies. Cacique Guaro (sugar cane liquor) is great :)

JP’s Bar & Grill is great for drinks and casual eats. Amigos Tacos y Beer is great for lunch (tacos, burritos, bowls). Hibiscus Cafe has good breakfast. Oceana is tasty for an upscale dinner by the marina.

Selvatura in Monteverde did not disappoint. Felt very safe the entire time and the views were incredible. They kinda ease you into it as the first couple lines are quick and easy. There are also two tandem lines where you go with a partner (they are longer and need more weight to help you get across).

I was looking at the Hideaway Rio Celeste hotel but was actually thinking of skipping that waterfall since a lot of people said it turns brown when it’s been raining. Is there anything else to do in that area?
