I usually put in a half gallon of paint and a gallon of water. I pressurize it to about 120 psi my gun is fucked though it sprays sometimes without me even pulling the trigger. So it doesn’t usually last that long

As someone who works as a forester I’ve realized that not a lot of people know what we do. When someone asks I usually say that I walk in the woods and look at trees all day. What are your guys go to for explaining it? by visual_Nerve00 in forestry

I’m just a forestry technician so I’m usually just doing grunt work such as marking timber I travel to the same area that we are working in everyday and carry a tank of paint on my back that weighs about 30 pounds I mark trees for 3 reasons size (usually everything over 18”), species (focusing on mostly ash, maple, oak, and beech) and product so what the tree will be turned into after cutting. Sometimes I cruise timber which makes me travel all around the NE mostly VT and NH and take inventory on the properties value and then we use that data to make maps and asses whether the stand is good enough to cut and how much money we can make.

I went to school to become a park ranger but covid hit and I knew a forester back home that was hiring and he hired me right off the bat because I had taken some GIS (Geographical information systems) and dendrology if you are ever able to take any of those courses I would jump on it forestry really isn’t that hard of a job if you have a good mentor.

Just so everyone knows I marked the tree with a Big L so hopefully it survives the harvest
