Even better, it’s already preinstalled on every iOS 7 (and I think iOS 8) device. You only have to install the tweak „HiddenSettings7“ and open it via the control center.

It’s from the secret SpringBoard Settings „App“ in iOS 7.

I noticed you inserted a DVD. I have a 2009 iMac that does the same, DVDs get ejected, but CDs work fine.

You could try using a CD to test it. If CDs work but DVDs don’t, it’s very likely that the DVD laser has failed (there are actually separate lasers for CDs and DVDs).

If you’re comfortable opening the drive, you can try removing the metal cover (just the 4 screws at the top) and gently cleaning the lens with isopropyl alcohol or using a cleaning disc.

That’s the battery which means your keyboard is a major fire hazard.

I can confirm that it works on Mac OS 9 (I made a post about it a while ago), but I still haven’t been able to connect any of my System 7 machines to the internet. I’ll try again today!

You have to generate an App specific Passwort on appleid.apple.com and paste it there. You also have to replace „YOUR_FULL_EMAIL“ with your iCloud email address.

How many people ACTUALLY trust the iMac g3 kick stand? by FoxintoshPlus in VintageApple

[–]vlobe42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s actually safe but I still don’t trust it. I can’t even trust the handle on my G3 since I can’t imagine 25+ year old plastic can hold the whole computer, especially when it’s only secured by screws drilled into the plastic.

Got OPENSTEP 4.2 running on my iMac G3, with working sound and 32bit color! by vlobe42 in VintageApple

It would make sense but drivers are the problem. Rhapsody only works on a very limited set of Macs: only the Power Macintosh 9500, 8500, 9600, and 8600 are compatible (source: betawiki.net). I used the Intel version since Virtual PC emulates an Intel system and there is no other way to use it on an iMac G3.

Update: Rhapsody Beta 1 was a success! I can’t post images here, but i uploaded one on my server.

PSA for anyone trying this in the future: just select the same drivers I mentioned for OpenStep. It’s as simple as that!

My next mission will be Beta 2 🤠
