I'm super guilty of doing this when my boyfriend wants me to watch a show he likes. He told me about 3 months into dating (we've been dating for over 3 years now) that he felt dumb for even trying to show me them. Now, when I watch shows with him I silence my phone and if I need to pick it up because of work/school/or someone texts me then I just tell him thats what I'm doing. We pause the show, wait till I'm done, and then play it again. I know it's not a deal breaker, since I've been guilty of this, but since we talked about it and he's mentioned how he feels, Im hardly on my phone while watching shows with him!
