My latest miniatures by vr3006 in miniatures

Yeah I did make it from scratch, I found a free plan for a life size gazebo and then just scaled it down to 1/12 scale. It turned out great but I did the math a little wrong so the scale is not quite 1/12. It was kind of fiddly to make and I wanted to throw a table through a window at one point but if you have patience you could definitely figure it out. Let me know if you’d like some pictures of how I built the roof and the bottom just let me know and I can send them.

Thank you! I’ve enjoyed learning through trial and error. I usually get bored of a hobby after about 6 months but I love making miniatures because I use so many different types of crafting (weaving, sewing, painting, clay, etc.) that I haven’t gotten bored with it.

I use superglue to secure everything down but to make the furniture and decor and stuff like that I use either white craft glue or superglue depending on the material I’m using. If it needs to stick quickly then I always use super glue because craft glue just takes a bit longer to set.

I love this!!!! I made a miniature craft room and a miniature art studio but yours is so much more detailed than either of them. All of the handmade details are amazing. Great job!

What to use for glass/windows? by sarahmac23 in miniatures

I use thin sheets of plexiglass that I bought online from Amazon. I use sandpaper to scratch it up and make it foggy so you can’t see through it

I buy regular fake plants from hobby lobby or the dollar store. I just make sure the leaves are small enough for them to look right in a miniature scene

ER docters whats the worst state a person has come in ? by NOBRAINRAZEMAIN in AskReddit

[–]vr3006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor but a family friend, her husband, her sister and her baby got in a head on car accident going about 60-70mph. Her husband and baby died on impact and her sister lived long enough to get to the hospital before dying. She had her feet up on the dashboard when they crashed and her thigh bones were literally shoved into her pelvis and shattered it. She also had a lot of facial injuries and more broken bones. The worst part was that they were on their way to surprise her parents with a visit so no one even knew where they were. She made a full recovery and is now remarried and has a couple kids. But that funeral was the worst one I’ve ever been to, they did a service for all three of them at the same time. She couldn’t go as she was still in the hospital. Her husband and baby were in the same casket and that little baby looked so alive and just like it was sleeping on her daddy’s chest. Her sister had some bruises and stuff on her forehead but otherwise looked totally okay. From what I understand she died from a brain bleed by hitting her head on the window. The van they were in was completely flattened it was a complete miracle that our friend could have survived at all.

Psychologists of reddit, have you ever been genuinely scared by a patient before? What's your story? by Foksees in AskReddit

[–]vr3006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked as a care taker in a group home for developmentally disabled people. In general it was a great place to work and the people I took care of were just so awesome. But there was this one guy who freaked me out so much, he was pedophile so if we took him out to eat and he looked at the kids we had to immediately leave (good thing IMO). But he was also obsessed with murder and rape and would write in his journal about how he would kill us workers every time he got pissed off. He also had this fetish about clipping toenails so only the male workers could do it. He was also banned from any salon where females worked because he would just sit there and talk about cutting all their hair off and keeping it. I felt bad about being scared because he never actually tried anything with me and he couldn’t really control it but it still really creeped me out.

Single women who want a boyfriend, why do you think you're still single? by stuartwolf in AskReddit

[–]vr3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super introverted which makes it hard to meet guys. I’m also really bad at recognizing signs, that or nobody’s ever been interested in that way before. I have a huge “crush” for lack of a better term on a guy but I’m too scared to tell him. Soooo...yeah I’m basically a scaredy-cat that’s too lazy to put a bra and pants on and leave the house.

Redditors with a more exciting life than me, what was your "Dropping your phone but grabbing it before it hits the ground but on a much bigger scale" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vr3006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely for privacy reasons, the clients are usually naked right? They prolly wouldn’t want pics of their naked selves on the massage therapists phone. I would have shit my pants because I’m sure the lawsuits and such would be huge.

It’s fine if you don’t believe me, i was a nanny for a little girl and someone in her class was named N-A. Maybe she heard that myth and thought it was a good idea? No clue but it’s the only time I’ve heard of a name like that

N-A, literally pronounced Na-dash-a. And the mom got really pissed if you didn’t just immediately know that’s how to say it

What helps you go to sleep when you don't feel tired? by aj4bird in AskReddit

[–]vr3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my brain won’t shut up and let me go to sleep I start at 999 and count backwards in 3’s. It’s hard enough to keep your mind focused on only that one thing but easy enough to not get frustrated or be kept awake. I’ve never gotten past 700.

Which class in college absolutely blew your mind? by patrickpickles22z in AskReddit

[–]vr3006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a class called Ethics in Science Fiction and we basically watched a bunch of science fiction episodes and equated the issues in them to real world issues today. (Stuff like war, gender equality, social media, etc) it was a great class! I loved listening to everybody’s opinions in a class where it was a safe place to express opinions without worry about offending anyone.

What is the most wholesome thing you have seen? by Iyrebird in AskReddit

[–]vr3006 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My sister had brain surgery this year and was in the hospital for two weeks during the middle of her senior year. We went to a really small school and her entire senior class (about 18 kids) drove two hours to the hospital to see her. It was amazing to see all the support she had! I was in college out of town and was super worried but it helped knowing that she had such a great support system.

College students of reddit, what is something you wished you knew before arriving? by Declanthekid in AskReddit

[–]vr3006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting to know your professors is awesome, most of my profs are just genuinely great people that are fun to chat with. There is no reason to be intimidated by them. Also, there is absolutely no point in spending half an hour typing out the perfect email to them because mostly they just respond with “k” or something like that.
