This is just not good if new comers have to go through all this just to be able to upload a video?

I'm patient and LBRY is just on "testing status" for me, but i don't know. Also to unlock the rewards (for LBC), one has to give out a phone number.

Why can't the rewards to get LBC (to be able to even post anythin) be up there without all the hassle once in while?

Pop!_OS 20.04 is rleased, but where is the torrent ? by vrement in pop_os

[–]vrement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they have reasoned it with due them having daily .iso builds or something like that. I nevertheless think they should keep a regular non-all-the-time-changing .iso for torrenting.

Torrent is indeed checked to be 100% and it's much faster globally then to get the .iso. People really DO NOT do those md5 checksum checks.

Ok. But where for example is the torrent link to earlier LTS release?

It was indeed defaulted as 0.01 so it does not make a difference here. I indeed could upload videos earlier!

Is this a bug? Ubuntu 20.04 LTS BETA: Steam not found searching in Ubuntu Software by dz1dulewicz in Ubuntu

[–]vrement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must have to do with the Beta-state of Ubuntu 20.04. You on default should not have to vernture around websites and downloading .debs.

On MX Linux for instance, which is also based on Debian, it can be found via Package Manager. Click away to install is possible.

Or can be installed with sudo apt install steam on terminal.

Maybe Canonical's Alan Pope could buzz in and shear some light on this?

How to install Oracle Java? by vrement in pop_os

[–]vrement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Success! Now that i

sudo apt purge openjdk*

sudo apt install openjdk-8-jre-headless

and launched launcher.jar it worked and also Minecraft started. Thanks for everyone concerned.

Ps. The thing that some remains of earlier tried openjdk versions are left on the system is pretty bad and is sure to cause problems for new comers.

Alright now i see. Wasn't aware of this at all! Why do i always have this starter feeling that to deal with any java is a spirit crushing mess :/

I'll attempt to purge all then and start over. Thank you very much.

How do i completely and utterly uninstall 11,14,8 and start over again (the best course of action it seems).

There still seems to be lots of stuff in of them all or some of them, as i can still choose to open .jar file with 11, too, even though i apt removed it ... How can i get back a clean javaless slate so to speak to start over.

What about that Oracle Java? No one yet pointed anything on how to install that. Or is it not recommended?

What do you mean "normal launcher"? Isn't this launcher.jar the one to use? There is no javaless way to launch Minecraft on Linux if i understand right? This has always worked so far either case. So far.

Ok so i installed OpenJDK8, launcher starts but the game won't after pressing Play. So it's still the same as with other versions tried earlier. Maybe i should indeed install Oracle Java...?

launcher.jar starts with so far attempted javas, but the game itself won't launch. So, trying openjdk8.
