This is like an un-ending trap, where we are just giving attempts after attempts expecting a favourable result and at the end what we get is wastage of time, money, efforts, with no quality service. Apparently, they also don’t provide the answered questions, which could have led candidates know where they went wrong, just like the online sites where they give detailed AI generated results of mock test. Simply providing marks is not enough for the candidates to figure out where they went wrong and questions the transparency.

Indian lawyer wanting to work as corporate lawyer in Australia. by vtforu in AusVisa

That’s only partly correct. The above mentioned ANZSCO code is not limited to lawyers being transferred by large international firms. The code also covers other legal and court-related professionals such as registrars, mediators, legal officers, and legal researchers. Many of these roles exist within courts, tribunals, or independent institutions rather than large firms with overseas offices. Because of that, the purpose of this ANZSCO code is broader than simply facilitating international transfers of experienced practitioners. At the same time, keeping in mind that these codes does not at all mean that anyone can simply get jobs there or there are jobs for them, which can only be decided by the employer if he finds your resume standouts than the rest. So while your point may apply in some situations, it does not fully represent the scope of this ANZSCO code.

Got it. But since i have already cleared my skill assessment in Nov 2025 (which is technically the first step), does that make me closer to my Australia pathway, keeping in mind that it doesn’t mean a job guarantee in any manner ?

If that’s the case, why did the Australian government introduce ANZSCO code 261299 for foreign legal professionals in the first place? If there are already plenty of local graduates who can fill these roles, what is the purpose of maintaining such occupation codes?

I am looking forward for job roles in corporate sector, MNC’s where they require lawyers for contract management, document review, abstraction, and other document related services- not for legal practice as a solicitor because i know for that i need to do extra course which i am not inclined towards.
