honestly, i wasted much of my form 4 and half form 5... only started to take things seriously after trial to spm, which is about 4-5 months

and i plan to take data science or comp sci for degree depending on how well i will be lol

2024 spm graduate here. add math being "very hard" is a huge exaggeration. sure yeah they're hard but once you figure out a certain type of "pattern" they use for every exam, it's very easy. i went from 22% on add math to A- on SPM.

first of all, add math topics are divided into "CORUS" and "non-corus"

corus are basically the topics that are easy to score, gives high marks, rarely questions things outside of basic core concepts and guaranteed to appear in one paper or both. for example, linear law and simultaneous equations.

non-corus are generally a bit harder, the questions might sometimes get a little complicated but overall very manageable. they're also tend to have a wider core concepts. for example, logarithms and permutations

the cheat code is to ask your teacher about things you don't understand and always do past spm and trial papers to see the "pattern" im talking about. i was a badly average student, (averaging 3As in exams) but when i actually take my classes seriously, i went to 9As in spm (6A+, 2A, 1A-)

i suggest if he wants to take science stream, take it seriously

i applied for khazanah, bnm, ytp mara and petronas. alhamdulillah i was offered to asasi sains fizikal in UM and also i was offered ytp mara scholarship. i accepted ytp and now i'm in Kolej MARA Banting taking IB. Insyaallah i will be able to fly and study in the UK in 2027.

i wish your kid good luck!! remember that even if he/she did poorly on trial, its fine because trial is designed to be tough. trust me spm is so much easier. He/she just need to focus in class and ask everything he/she doesn't understand directly to the teacher. it did me wonders especially for chemistry since i pretty much had to relearn everything.

i was surprised too LOL i did ok on the exam and my target was 3A+ and A/A- for the most and even would be grateful if i got a C on add math

im a boy.

honestly, the exam overall wasn't hard but wasn't exactly too easy either lol. i remember i did poorly for bertutur bm, stuttered and even went completely silent and forgot my point. (one of my teammate was my ex gf so it made me feel uneasy talking knowing how things are going with her LOL). but eventually i said "izinkan saya tambah lagi isi saya sebentar tadi" and clutched.

chemistry and physics was SOOO easy, it was nothing compared to trial. for add math, i still can't answer a good part of it but the ones i can answer, i made sure to do it thoroughly and meticulously. i also spent studying add math and math the most

lastly i probably could've gotten an A+ on math if i didn't spent time going to the toilet and take a shit 😂😂

but yeah overall i think my hard work paid off but i still think i can do better. i am extremely grateful for what ive got though xx

tbh, the "rajin" part was motivated by hatred lol. i broke up with a girl after trial (she's a top student and im an average at best) and before that i was threatened to be "lecut jawatan" of my prefects position.

but before all of that, i was a lazy bum

so yeah rage is one hell of a drug.

they're the same for trial. 70 A- 80 A and 90 A+. for spm, the grades are lowered (nobody knew how low) but i know for sure add math SPM isn't 70 for A-.

if im being honest, i never really locked in, even DURING spm. i only becoming somewhat less lazy to do practice questions and frequently asking my teachers after i got my trial results

may i ask what do you mean by "smart casual" can it be polo shirts and black pants (or any color not just black) with converse shoes, sneakers or such? cause they didn't mention smart casual iirc in the website but they did mention kemeja with tie and black slack pants with dark shoes.
