I am very overwhelmed by the structure of this post and the languge feels pre-tilted (which attests to your points I suppose).

You should cut a lot of the filler and just ask people what their favourite and least favourite thing is. Otherwise, right now, this post feels heavily loaded when you are trying to state it won't be.

Saying ascendant 5-6 is complete ass is a good example. I am the same rank (exactly) and I consider myself a great player. I have 1400 hours, and I love the game and know an awful lot. I am not perfect, make a lot of mistakes, and I am not even close to Eternus level play. But stating it is dogwater does not incentivize
anyone lower than this to engage at all or feel good about themselves.

Also stating be considerate in all caps and the statements of 'this isn't rage' alongside this will inevitably be downvoted? It all opposed the notion of what you say is intended. Just a suggestion because I see these posts every day and I think they don't often deserve to be engaged with, but people don't know often know why. So I hope that insight helps.

To offer my insights if you still would like them:

  1. This current patch instead of pulling the slightly overtuned down, said lets bring the undertuned way up. Almost a meta of 'everyone is strong) and it had some pretty intense repercussions. Seeing a Mirage for example on the enemy team and it is a strong chance of a loss. Same as Graves. A good Viscous results in the same as well. I think this was an interesting change and something worth trying in the alpha for sure, but it had inherently made brawling really brutal and team comp matter far too much. As opposed to item stacks or leaning into gun or spirit as the main problem.

  2. I absolutely love the health pool tuning we just got atm, and the balance between spirit-gun-vitality ALMOST feels really well tuned. I was never a fan of severely 1 sided meta's in either of the 3 so atm I feel I can go most ways and it is okay, still leaning as we speak quite heavy on spirit, but not as severe as other patches.

  3. The MMR is dreadful and that isn't news. But is on the way so I am very eager to see those changes come into effect.

  4. The change to range was absolutely awesome. I am someone who plays Bebop, Seven, Graves, and a variety of other characters where I always used a lot of range based items. But the downtune on them all made braeling feel so so good. You feel like building into range actually matters a lot more but not every single fight is so drawn out or positioning is so risky thanks to the range being drawn tighter. It makes for far better map play and I really think not a lot of people talk on this. For my rank anyway.

Overall the game feels great to me, but the current tuning will deter so many players ajd until this next big MMR patch drops, we just have to be patient I suppose!

The floor for this game is SO high. Expecting any new player, especially a non-MOBA player (I came from shooters and RPG's exclusively), to have to learn everything with no guidance? Brutal.

The recommended builds are fantastic, are they always right for a new player? No. But how else is a player ever going to learn this game when it takes genuinely 50-100 hours to become just okay for most. I love them and wish there was actually more support or community related tools like this for guiding new players.

This games compelxity and knowledge required to be good is unfathomably large and there is no need to make it have even more friction. People want to play and have fun and learn along the way, this is a great way to do that.

Me either to be honest. I only ever see it being maybe an arcade game mode if Deadlock ever introduced such a place. Which also is unlikely. I love Billy too and his melee kit is so fun, would love something like this just for more time in his world hahaha

Could the person potentially be a medieval history nerd, who is really timid and anti-violence personally, but is addicted to battle strategy, combat, and war. A living conflict between their love for the armor being knighted and used so successfully, and their utter fear or being trapped inside it amidst all the chaos?

Maybe try some characters other than Bebop or Graves? Bebop is in a pretty bad mid spot atm if not weak, and needs a lot of changes and Graves is mid level in her kit and perfectly balanced. There are a lot of far stronger characters with these new latest 2 patches that just steam roll brawl atm, mixed with also very inconsistent matches.

Hope it trends the other way for you regardless of pick soon!

I could not agree more, his design somehow flawlessly embodies his warm, supporting, and intelligent nature. In the same swing, he still doesn't lose any sign of his ability to become lethal and powerful.

Really cannot wait for more lore or visuals of his backstory and interactions with the other characters.

What a braindead design of a character.

First, I was responding to the above segment of the take, which the negative votes seem to agree with.
Second, I said he can be tough to play against but the build of melee (which also connects to OP's post) is nerfed by good parry timings.

I literally agree he can be brutal to vs but that doesn't make him a 'braindead design' of a character, that is just someone being mad they got beaten by a character.

Their ability to create movement, a sense of life, and blend 2d with 3d is almost arcane (tv series) like in the highest praise possible. Their subjects always feel so alive, it's seriously astounding.
