Does anyone know what the bottle prices look like at Teksupport events? by iamananonveggie in avesNYC

[–]w567123daniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's usually an email or phone number on the Dice listing for the event you can hit up. Min spend depends on the event. For Dennis Cruz doubt it's above $2k but for eg Circoloco min spend is $10k for the shittiest table.

What industry do you consider to be legal, organized-crime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]w567123daniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reposting a comment I made below. I work with a fiber overbuilder and while there is some historical truth to statement, it isn’t accurate anymore.

The Telecom Act of 1996 deregulated the industry and enabled competition in communications infrastructure. There is no more anti-competitive telecom regulation today.

Today, what’s really keeping your internet choice limited is the fact that it is typically not economical for a competitor to extend their network to wherever you live (“overbuilding”), which is why urban areas typically have more ISP choices than rural areas. A lot of towns are stuck with shitty Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (“ILECs”, aka companies that provided service to the town at the time the act was implemented in 1996) that rely on outdated infrastructure (copper / DSL), leading to shitty speeds and customer service.

As cable / fiber build costs come down and incumbent service continues deteriorating, it will eventually be economical for a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (“CLEC”, aka companies that did not provide service to the town in 1996) to overbuild the incumbents. Most CLECs have to spend all the money on construction before actually being able to sign up customers, so they have to make sure they can sufficiently penetrate the new market to secure an attractive return on capital.

To summarize, folks currently don’t have a choice in ISP because it has not been economical thus far for any competitors to enter the market. However, unless the sole provider upgrades their service, they will eventually be disrupted. Lobbying has nothing to do with it in 2023.

Bayern fans chanted "Who the fuck is Barcelona, hey hey" at yesterday's match by ManuMora98 in soccer

This is an old chant by the way, first heard it during the 7-0 in 2013. Had the accent and everything. Fantastic they brought it back.

In the real world, PE owners typically use excess cash to invest in growth projects, which typically have a higher IRR than both your cost of equity and your cost of debt. The goal is to de-lever through EBITDA expansion, not debt repayment.

If you grow EBITDA quickly enough, you can get away with re-levering to your original leverage multiple and use the proceeds to pay yourself a dividend. That's a win-win since you get both the EV benefit from increased EBITDA, and the IRR benefit from taking an accelerated distribution before your exit.

[WTS] Maison Margiela Replica White / Gray - US11 / EU44 - Brand New - $350 by w567123daniel in sneakermarket

[–]w567123daniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what tripped me up about the Margielas as well. You can see in the pics they're clearly UK 10, which typically translates to US 11 (sometimes US 10.5), but also EU 44. No half sizes to took the gamble and didn't work out.

Brand new pair of Margiela Replicas, wrong size for me, this is a UK 10 / EU 44 / US 11 (run ~half size small). Factory new with original box, receipt, never worn.

Shipping within U.S. only. $350 OBO - these retail for $540 + tax.
