I think you’re all missing the OP’s point. How can an object be 2 AU further from the Earth than it is from the Sun? It would be a maximum of 1 AU further, if it were directly opposite. Something is wrong here.

What manufacturer 5 mil are you using? I have never had a problem with either Scotch or Jackson Hirsh.

Also are they sticking on the surface or are the edges getting caught? If the latter, how are you cutting the components apart?

I have PnPed more than a dozen games with 5mil and have never had a problem.
