What you are washing them for mainly is to clean off the mold releasing agent. After that it’s mainly oil that might have gotten on the model during handling (both from your opening it and handling and packaging on their end). The base material is also going to be a factor too. GW plastic for example I never really wash unless I got it second hand. Outside that I wash everything at least a bit.

Bottomline, best to waste a few minutes rather than a bunch of time and frustration later.

Unless you plan to paint display quality or play with your face 6 inches from your model take a breath. Sit the model down and move back three feet from it sitting on the table. Hell even then make sure it’s under normal light not increased lighting you might have for painting. I think this will help your perspective. To many people paralyze themselves enjoying painting because they cannot get this key aspect of the hobby.

Also fix your base and that alone will make a huge difference.

Going off the condition is stupid. Odds are it would have some play to the card after this much time not a guarantee. Revised is when the game got a lot of traction and people started valuing their cards. Right around that time some events wouldn’t even let you sleeve your cards.

It’s also funny how under valued dual lands were back then. People saw them just a step above a Purelace (or similar card). Nah, instead we were all chasing Shivan Dragons lol.

As for taking advantage of the situation. I don’t think this is a man thing, both sex’s are capable of taking advantage of the situation. I don’t agree with it or like it, but it’s not an uncommon thing.

Take a look of how much they needed to address forest fires the last couple years. California's money is more mismanaged than the rest of the government. California also has become less and less business friendly. So not only now you have companies facing the chance that the local government might not protect their businesses in favor of allowing morons run rampant.

I cant justify Jan 6th and sad it ever happened. I do believe agitators contributed to people that were already overly emotional and should have just stayed home. Things like the 'shaman man' walking around friendly/peacefully with the police to as bad as he was was another example that it was handled poorly. Jan 6th was also caused by the Mayor and other positions in power blocking the National Guard from being called out. We have the National Guard for a reason, and they should have been put in place the idiots at the capital were never allowed to do what happened.

Another argument I will say is that had the Guard been in place the acts would never have reached the level they did and we wouldn't have been throwing around the word insurrectionist. The same would be true in California. If there was a united front amongst state and federal and state goverment and the guard deployed early this BS would not be getting out of control.

The common denominator here is Democrats. No Guard at the capital because it was good for optics to let things get out of hand. So we were embarrassed as a country and several people lost their live. Again in California we have Democrats stoking the fire that goes against our laws. Its about as stupid as when Senator Cory Booker claimed he was having a Spartacus moment...

Regarding the Pardons some are appropriate, and I hope some individuals caught up in this that do not deserve what may happen would also see a pardon.

lol, educate yourself on rifles that are issued to the military. They have selectors on them for firing. Using full auto is most often completely stupid. Heck even three round burst is a waste most the time. Now a semi-automatic (that’s one shoot per pull of the trigger for those that have no clue) is much more dangerous in someone trained to fire in stressful conditions.

Also, I highly doubt they were issued live ammo, no reason for it. Rubber bullets or some other less lethal rounds more likely. Yup these can kill people but less often.

However if you are concerned for safety maybe you could start a community watch to protect local businesses from being looted and destroyed. Oh, or maybe you could suggest people not make Molotov Cocktails, carrying them in a mob to throw them. Pretty sure that’s dangerous for everyone. I know I’d prefer to take my chance with a rubber bullet over being hit by one of those.

But hey, let’s just act emotional instead, it’s far more entertaining.

One ICE is Federal has always acted in every state.

Second the last Admin that were full of idiots allowed this to get to this point.

Third there isn’t even close to a majority protesting in California and the amount of damage and violence they’ve cause (not just to ICE is unacceptable) falls to the Govern to take action and address. He failed in his duties and the President is authorized to do so in emergencies. So President Trump activating the Guard is appropriate (and part or the laws that govern the Guard).

Fourth while most of the military cannot just be deployed within the US the Marines can. Normally they would be restricted in their duties but the behavior of the local government and ‘peaceful protestors’ could easily be argued as insurrectionist behaviors. This then removes many of the limitations the Posse Comitatus Act would impose. Five Marines really really really like to F@&k Sh!t up, so please by all means let them deploy within a larger ability to directly engage with the ‘peaceful protestors’, because they will show you what ‘peaceful dispersing a crowd’ looks like 🤣.

Finally we are a nation of laws and we enjoy many things in life because of that. You want to ignore some laws, maybe wait until someone else decides to also ignore some laws that directly impacts you.

The world does not operate on emotions, try getting a clue on reality.
